Few questions

just have a few questions on the new game factions i just got it about 5 days ago.. though i have to 1st one i just do understand some of the new things

1: on my map i see dividing lines of red and blue i kno its for luxons and bulthazar or whatever but is there any thing u can do that affects them and what do they mean and how does it effect me?

2: where are the best places to farm?

3: what benefits do u get being on luxon of butlhazr (dunno how to spell it ) .. im in a guild which r the butlhazar.. so what does that do for me

4: wtf does tank mean

5: what do the red bean cakes and rice wine do?

Luxons vs. Kurzicks, Balthazar is something different. Join a guild or form your own, join an alliance and fight for the side of your choice - donate your accumulated faction to that side. It doesn't affect you much unless you are in a winning alliance - you get access to a small special section of each controlled town with lowered merchant prices and fireworks.

Stand in front of the monsters and take lots of damage without dieing.

5: what do the red bean cakes and rice wine do?

cakes cast 'sugar rush' inside the towns - it's a speed boost.
rice wine gets you drunk temporarily

I'll do my best to answer your questions.

1) That line is the deviding line between the Luxon and Kurzick factions. Later on, if that line crosses over a city, the other faction can take control of that city. In practice, it doesn't seem to do much other than change the maps for Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood.

2) Rather than ask that here, I'd search around the class-specific boards. You'll likely only get linked there if you ask that here anyway.

3) Balthazar isn't one of the choices. The 2 your guild could pick from are Luxon and Kurzick. This will effect which team you fight for if you join up for an Aliance Battle. If your Aliance collects enough faction, then you will obtain control of a city within that region of the land and you will have access to a special shop that gives a 20% discount on many standard items.

4) Tank is a nick-name for a Warrior, and it refers to PvE play. What they want is a damage sponge, a character that can take a huge ammount of damage and keep the mobs away from the softer targets in the back row. Please refer to the Warrior sub-forum for more detailed information about that.

5) Red Bean Cakes increase your running speed for a while, but I believe that that effect is restricted to towns (I'm not 100% positive on that, havn't tried it outside of town). Rice Wine is like the Hunter's Ale. If you drink enough of them, your character will become drunk for a period of time (4 Rice Wine will give you the effect). One of the titles in the game requires that your character be drunk for a long period of time, and the Rice Wine will aid in getting that title.

To add to the answers for #3. You can enter the Alliance Battles through your guild hall. There are 5 battle grounds that determine where the line is. Going from deep inside Kurzick territory(favoring Kurzicks) to deep inside luxon territory (favoring luxons). I haven't been doing AB's long, but from what I've seen, the line doesn't vary too far from the neutral (favors neither) area.

so if a kurzick guild wins there line increases for more land

so any kruzick guild or luxon guild effects these lines??

Right, but it's more of a "group effort". No single guild/aliance will greatly effect the line. It takes a lot of guilds/aliances on one side winning a lot to move the line more than just a wiggle.

After all, it would be quite illogical, look how many people fight in real wars for as VG says, to move "the line" more than a wiggle? Thousands. How many in Guild wars? Hundreds, or less.
