Not sure if this should be in pvp forum... but

When using vent/ts for pvp...
do you use the volume activation?...or a button (and which button)?

Thanks for helping out

Not structly a PvP question.
I use TS for almost every game I play now, and I use it in GW for PvE communication most of the time. When I'm busy living, there's no time to type

That being said, I currently use Volume Activation and a headset. Press to Talk would be a pain for me as my TS client runs off my TS sever which sits mostly behind me.

You'll have to tweak your volume threshhold basd on headset, your normal speaking voice and any ambient sounds (speakers, tv, etc).

I use push-to-talk, but only because I'm the kind of person that randomly starts whistling, humming, singing, or making odd noises, and I don't want to subject my clan/guild mates to such a torturous trial of will.

I used press to talk so that everyone else on ts doesn't hear me shouting, cussing and generally raging when I randomly see someone doing something that I think is moronic, no point confirming to them that I'm not all there

Voice activation gets on peoples nerves, seeing you can hear people's background music, and ALOT of people with voice activation you can hear them breathing constantly.

Use the scroll button on your mouse if you got one, or I used to use the end button.

Yea, If you aren't an expert at setting up the Voice Activation You'll get yourself a nice mute on the server because everyone can hear you breathing, or hear your TV/Music in the background...

Which is why alot of servers are requiring Push to Talk.

I use Caps Lock, because it is right near the movement keys (I don't use mouse walking). I tried pressing the mouse wheel once before, but I always ended up clicking something by accident, or scrolling the wheel rather than pressing.

Use PUsh To Talk please, nobody wants to hear your mouth-breathing.

I set mine to the middle mouse button.

I have a wireless Bluetooth Headest and I use voice activation and Shift-Pause to mute myself when I'm sneezing etc. Background is mostly quiet in my house. My guildmates are used to the sounds of me cooking already.
It's kinda nice, I can talk to my guildies and others any where in my house.

I set my push to talk to \ most of the time, easy to use from keyboard movement hand.

push to talk, but i have extra buttons on the side on my mouse, so it's pretty natural for me.

That's what I used for quite awhile as well. However, I ran into complications being able to push the Push-to-Talk button, both mouse buttons, and moving the mouse at the same time (finger cramping ftl).

I now use 0 or Q, depending on which computer I'm on.

Voice activation is annoying... it's always the voice activaters that have 15 barking dogs in their house, or screaming/uncontrollable kids, or angry mothers. And that's not even considering the breathing, coughs, throat clearings, and all of the other disgusting human noises noone wants to hear.

Voice activation.

I don't like pressing another button when I'm in a frantic battle. I've never had problems with breathing into the mic - that's what that fuzzy thing at the end is for :P.
