2 Party Missions
nrvllrgrs
One of the greatest things that Factions brought Guild Wars is 2 party missions, like Vizunah Square. I really hope to see more in the future. Perhaps, even the possibility to enter a mission with a desired 16 people. Never any more than 16 people in a party; I certainly don't want any WoW raid groups here.
Futhermore, I think it would be valuable to have some sort of health meters for the other allied party, similar to the existing party window. The new window would not require names, but only the other party's health status. This would make it easier for healers to do their job between the parties. And for those people who don't want it, it could be removed similar to the existing window.

No way, I hope they do away with them completely in future chapters. Nothing but a pain in the ass to go through the trouble of putting together a good group, only to get paired with a group full of newbies or henchmen. Even more of a pain in the ass when you're trying to get master's completion. Mission completions should be about skill/strategy, not luck.

Thus it would be necessary to select a desired 16 people.

These mission types are great; only the are poorly implemented in Factions. A team should not fail if the other team doesn't uphold their side... *cough* Togo dieing before the other side even has a chance to get there. - The entire instant loss due to Togo or Mhenlo dieing is dumb anyway. Are they somehow tied to the bloodstone from Proph or something?
If each team had a goal seperate from the other, but were able to assist each other in various ways it would be far better a situation. One team set on opening some gates to make the other teams' shorter; while team two holds off foes set on destorying team one... If team one wipes, then team two continues onward but through a longer path; or if team two wipes then team one continues on through their set mission goals. Examples of course. Anet could then tie bonuses to helping the other team.

Think the two party missions was great idea. this could lead to epic battles that would be soo cool.

A rare 16-person mission, maybe one. But the 2-party missions were damned annoying.

Vizunah and Unwaking Waters are a blast when you have humans in both teams. On the other hand, having to do them Henchway was boring.
AW Lore
henchway is interesting, all my canthan born characters have made it through hencway with togo, and human players with mhenlo.
also in vizunah square, when i tried with my monk, we had a full player team, we go in with another full party, and they all died at the second intense area fighting.
we try it again, and there is this korea dude with 7 henchies, we flawlessed that mission, almost got master rewards but we failed for a few minutes.

Well, if there are to be anymore of those missions...
than A-Net would have to Implement shortcuts to bypass the second team. And allow us to deactivate the Ally Chat as well. I don't really want to read the bullshit the other team can come up with. And i don't like them flaming our side just because we're not speaking their language (mind you, THEIR language, not english language).
The way it is currently implemented, it's a nightmare mission to do and nothing, really nothing will get me to do these missions more often than absolutely necessary. I was experiencing severe frustrations when i attempted master in Vizunah and sent a multitude of prayers to any given possible god and thanked them for finally giving us a henchmen team on the canthan side.
What's so bad about the two team setup? Oh well... imagine a Thunderhead Keep Mission were you couldn't chose your team at all. So you hit enter and get to see your team.
Wa/Mo 14 - II Ownz U Dead II
Mo/Wa 15 - Farming Ftw
Wa/Mo 10 - Ultra Killer Super Slayer
Wa/Mo 12 - Ownage Dudzor
Wa/Mo 17 - I Lol In Ur Face Lol
Wa/Mo 13 - Me Tank Ugh
Mo/Wa 12 - Uber Cute Items Plz
Don't think so? I've seen this in Vizunah. Except that the nightmare Wa/Mos were replaced by A/mo(eba) and that occasional Ritualist Guy trying to outsmart himself. The names change to "Ultra Killer Super Shadow" and "Ownage Shadow" as well as "Dark Shadow Uber Wolf" on your 'sins and maybe "Big Jugs Lol" or "Nahpoolean Dienamyte" on your ritualists. Same scenario. They all suck. And you're forced to share their boat and beat the mission for them. All the while you HAVE to endure their mindless babbling and egowars.
Doing this once leaves a severe brain damage. Doing it twice adds a whole new level of agrresiveness and hatred. Having to do the stupid Mission 58 Times, just because the Canthan Team could not keep Togo alive for the very short duration it took you to go down there - makes you want to kill someone.

Unwaking and vizunah are a thick pain in the ass. Sick of failure because some moron shows up with a full team of henchies on the other side, and then either leaves, or just stands there letting stuff die. Unlike some people, I don't have all night to waste on getting through a mission because of time wastes like this. Quite frankly, I hope not to see another one.
CHUIU
I've only been able to beat Unwaking/Vizunah when I did it with all henchmen and the other team is all henchmen. Real people drop the ball and suck big time. Aside from that they don't follow directions and do stupid shit.
Kool Pajamas
I do better on Unwaking Waters with full henchman on both teams. Masters nearly everytime.
anonymous
I hated the 2 party missions, the majority of guild wars players arent very good and being forced to play with wammo #1735298 or assassin tank #4756 isnt my idea of fun.
kang
The easy way it could work was if I had a interface where you could see all the parties and select the one that looks good to you. Or if they were none THEN you could have picked hench...
I was lucky with both occassions, when I went to the square we got 2 full teams of good people, as the tyrian chars were all serious people hell bent on being the first to finish the game, all were good.
With unwaking we still got a full team of 16 people, we dont know who was more surprised, us or the luxons.....
then I carried on with that party to finish the game

What I did not like was how you could not choose who would be on the other side playing with you. You didn't know if it would be all human or all hench until you started the mission. What would be nice is if you could have a friend in the other town with his group of humans and you could team up somehow and play together. Right now it is just too random.
Satai Katalya
one of the great things about our alliance is the vast ammount of people who are up for anything. So say Vizunah or Unwaking we can team up either side for a bash and masters easily.
I don't see what anyone is whinging about. Fair do's you might have to pug it at some point, but I like to keep an open mind. Join said pug team, and strategise work together as your supposed to. Whats so hard about that?

Arkantos
I enjoyed unwaking and vizunah, but the current 2 party mission is a risk. You could have a good party, and the other party could screw you over. Also, people can easily abuse this. They can enter the mission with all henchies, and just leave. ANet needs to re-work the system.
Plastic Cutlery
I think the main problem with Vizunah is the Canthan side... and not that "ZOMG TEH CANTHENS SUX" but rather it is their THIRD mission and it is a pretty tough one to take on... and generally it will be a level 14 who has henched his way through everything and now thinks this mission is going to be easy. It would be very nice to be able to choose who you played with.

Wasaguests ideas are great, I'd love to see them implemented.
gamecube187
i really like wasaguests ideas. These missions are fun, if you don't have to do it with henchies or noobs taht die right away.
The most anoying part about Vizunah was you would get a really good group, and start. Then you would start and ask "is anyone on the other team?" If no one replied or only one person did (which happened a lot) then at least half your team would have to rush down there, and often, the other team would still somehow die b4 any of your team could get there. I've had to repeat the beggining of this mission way to many times to enjoy the beggining of it, but the parts further on in the mission are still fun.
If you could choose what team you are paired up with, so you at least know, and ArenaNet also uses wasaguest's ideas, then these missions would always be fun, regardless of what the other team was or what they did.

I agree with WasAGuest of the current poor implementation in factions.

sir, plz die, nah j/k. maybe you just had a bad time of the day. i know at sometimes of the day/nights its impossible to form a decent group.

If there are any FORCED multiple party missions in the next chapters I HIGHLY doubt I will buy it. My "success" being dependant upon a random collection of folks is not fair to me.
Sure, you could have "selectable" missions (like Dragon's Throat which you can skip and which doesn't hinder you game/story progress) where two parties could team up or something - or have a mission where you could have 16 characters (thus allowing those who want to fill it with Henchmen).
I have a feeling that these "challenge" missions are more geared towards PVP'er (or humongus guilds/alliances) and they enjoy them more than I do.
No more like these... PLEASE!

2-party missions are great to me.
One improvement I'd suggest though : when the timer reach 00:00, if there is non NPC second party, there should be a window that allow the leader to choose wether to do the mission or not (I think of parties willing to achieve master ranking, which is far easier with 2 non NPC parties)
