Tyria seems to favor the assassin

I love playing my assassin, and after beating Shiro and doing the whole Cantha thing, I went over to Tyria to go through the storyline.

Basically the conclusion I came to is... Tyria favors the assassin. Maybe it's the smaller mobs, or the fact that every mob doesn't have a fully fledged team of professions.... or maybe it's the fact that very few monsters in Tyria explode violently when you kill them.

You can't straight up tank stuff, but it's definitely easier. Anyone noticed this?

I spent a fair time in Cantha getting the protector title as my sin, a task made that bit harder by people's perception of sins. I've recently wondered over to Tyria to start doing the quests for the next title.

All I'll say is... much easier. It's brilliant! The healing ability up until late in the game makes 90% of mobs fast kills so I can run through lots of missions with absolutely no trouble. I'm loving not having explosions destroying me!

The trick is to knock a creature down to 5% health, then do a health degen. Once you do that, run away. The creature will explode and do nothing to you.

Tyria doesn't so much as favor the assassin, but as long as you play intelligently, it isn't as hard. That is until you hit Fire Island. Then you'll face Death Nova, Chain Lightning, Mursaat Towers and Jade Armors. You may not get many Death Nova explosions, but Lightning, Energy Drain (and enchantment removals) and that hurtful Monster ability that drains health very quickly (Jade Armor and Mursaat have this ability), you'll agree that there is no favoratism there.

That skill is nothing if you are infused, 3 health degen is nothing. And if you're at the Ring of Fire, you should be infused

Yes, we all should have infused armor by then, but if you are at Abadon's Mouth and then decide to get Granite Citidel Armor, you have to get it infused again.

3 health degen is annoying though, and since you still have weak armor, SA + CL + physical damage can be hurtful to an Assassin.

I've never tried this, but can you cast Scorpion Wire, can you teleport back to Shiro or the Lich after being teleported away?

Tyria wasn't really designed for Assasins, they didn't have those in these days. Furthermore, you've probably been going through with an ascended level 20 character and, until the desert/southern shiverpeaks, the missions you have been doing are designed for characters < 20.

I agree with Amy, no one can said it is easier in Tyria until you Kill Lich. I think the Ai in Tyria isn't too good in coping with Assassin too. you might still feel easier NOT because Assassin work better in Tyria, but the player is better after killing Shiro ( you trained enough in Cantha to be a SIN, not an ASS anymore)

I feel I kill a lot faster then my team mate in Maguma Forest because Assassin is a spiker and level of the foes are low. I usualy kill a foe in max 1.5 of a combo attack. but I know it won't be that easy soon.

I just glad no more afflicted explosion in Tyria. that killed my 50% of the time in Cantha

XD Tyria designed for Assassins. Way off.

When Guildwars came out the AI of the monsters were equivelent to a dog running after a bone. There have been tons of updates trying to make the AI of the monsters adapt to different situations. Compared to Factions it's harder for sure plus this annoying blowing up crap these monsters do. BUT I could say the same thing from my necro Detis going from Tyria to Cantha it seemed completely designed for Necros, especially MMs considering the amount of creature to make minions and how much they're wanted where as in Tyria no one cared about the Necro/Mes/ and Ranger.

Well people have gotten smarter that's for sure.. except for understanding Assassins completely.

Anyway Being an assassin is a bitch here. and the game is a bit harder then Tyria was.. I mean you was carried through most of the game as a lvl 18 and then by then you're ascended (unless you did a lot of killing and side quest) so you was cuddled more in Tyria than Cantha. Well until you hit Fireislands then it's a pain.
