Money Money Money!

Platium and gold is what makes the GuildWars Ecomny going. But some of us lack money! In some outposts i go,i see people begging for money or scamming cheap weapons and selling them for high prices...like a victos 10/10 axe which was sold to a guy for 35k when a 20/20 was released!I suggest placing NPC's in Cities which act as bank loaners. They can also act as NPC's who store unlimited cash unlike the storage. You see,i myself dun really have much money only bout 10-20k which is obviously not enough! These loaners which u can loan money from them...lets say a range from 1K-90k???Then u have a deadline of 2 weeks to pay back or the amount u loaned will be automatically deducted from ur inventory.....
Example:
Current Cash:60K
Loaned:20K
After 2 weeks didnt repay loan....
Spent on something worth 80k
Current Cash:0K
Deduct:20K
Left:-20K
So that what happens if u dun repay after the 2 weeks deadline. So the guy will have to either sell items to get back to 1K instead of negative. And he wont be able to loan anymore from the loaners coz they dun trust him anymore!

Why not just earn the gold in the first place, or ask help from guildies? x_X
Sure, that'd be pretty nice feature if you need it bad, ie to buy item X, and there's no guildies around, although this adds a new way for people who've managed to get people's accounts, borrowing the max gold out and then transferring it away.
'unno. It'd be a nice feature, in the end, I suppose. :P

Eh, this way you can purchase larger amounts of items that are speculated to rise which leads to a much larger profit in the long run if everything goes to plan.
Example - You have 900k. You borrow 100k. Now you have 1 Million. Sapphires are starting to rise becuase of the new chapter and then you can purchase 50 more.
Advantage = Borrower.

Then there must be limits like u can only loan a specified amount of times

Easy there Mr. Crabs. (think Spongebob)
I don't like the idea of banks, and things suddenly disappearing from your inventory.
You can get along fine with 20k, you don't really NEED to have a super green item. There's lots of great weapons around that cost far less. They also drop, so you can always try farming for them. OR you farm for other weapons such as Totem Axes, Forgotten Fans, SF greens, or golds.
TIP: farm in places you rarely go. drops will be better there.
What we do in my guild: we lend money to players that need, say, armor or a decent weapon, and let them pay it back some other time. Sometimes I just go get weapons for members from collectors, or from our "guild storage", which is currently one of my officers, who's been generous enough to give up inventory space for that purpose. We also have a rune keeper, and I myself am a materials and dye keeper for my guild.
Guild members should help eachother out, not only with missions and quests, but also with builds, weapons, armor etc.

Hmmm, remember a few months ago when they accidentally lowered the prices on many rare items? That was due to economy balance.
What you're sugesting would throw the economy out of balance. People getting large amounts of money out of nowhere and then losing large amounts of money, would just mean chaos.
Also remember Anets policy: they are not allowed to "spawn" items or money. This seems to be getting rather close to being that.

I wouldn't mind a loan NPC with a limit of 1 loan a month, and you can only get a loan for up to 1/4 of the amount of gold already on your character.
rong626
Well if u guys disagree on have NPC's that loan cash what bout having them store money since our storage only holds 100k?
Slainster
i dont know if I really like this idea, I know its tough making money, but it can be done, even low range weapons have a value
rong626
I dun really care about weapons...All i care is armor for new pve characters...armors are costly u know....
rong626
In same games u can even make million of dollars so that means the things to buy are way over million dollars...games like Maplestory or Silkroad?
rong626
But they cant be compared to GuildWars

I hate the idea of selling accounts, and this will just make it worse. I'll explain with Person 1 and Person 2
Person 1
Selling account!! Only 30k!! Many rare weapons, candy canes and special event items!!
Person 2
Really? Let me see it.
Person 1 swaps to different account
Person 1
Here they are.
Shows ectos, candy canes, and rare items
Person 2
Wow, all that for 30k!?! I'll buy it!!
Gives 30k to Person 1
Person 1
Ok, username=iamascammer password=noob
Person 1 now logs off or sets themself to not online. Person 2 now realises that Person 1 borrowed 500k and has given it all to Person 2 . Person 2 gets pissed and yells. Person 2 tries to whisper Person 1. Whisper cannot send.....

Whatever you need in the game you can earn on your own or find it. You don't need 15k/FoW armor. If you want it - earn it.

I don't get people trying to sell accounts for ingame money anyway. Is that always a scam? Is there a topic on that here?

Im thinking maybe there could be an item, sort odf like a no-interest CD(Certificate of Deposit) that you could buy, for example, in amounts of 5k, 10k, 25k, 50k, 75k, 100k. This would be a single item(not an "stacked" item), and placeable in inventory. It woul be similar to customized items in that only the original buyer could use it, and could be "sold" to a merchant outright, or used, in whole of part, to pay for an item. How about trades with other players? Well, if you have one of these, you go to the Monetary Token Merchant(Couldnt think of better name), and select from menu Buy a Token, Sell a Token, Exchange a Token, Player to Player Trade. Last one, you'd turn in token, give amount of token to use(if not exact, say 1k token for 900g item, the 100 goes into inventory), then click confirm, if amount is correct. Its alot like trade is now, in the other respects, youd see items as theyre offered, can change offer before confirming, ect, with the exception that youd have to confirm acceptance, to give players a chance to correct mistakes like entering 50g instead of 500, or realizing they offered wrong item(if two very similar in inventory). Just my 2 cents.
EagleEye33
10-20k can still get you going you may not be able to get a high price green but you can still get collectors item and make it yourself. Most green items can be made, they are just fluff, something for people with money to spend it on.
And if you dont pay back a loan and it takes somehting back what exactly will it take back, what if you recently get something and have a bunch of other stuff and dont want that specific item to be taken.
I may not understand the whole procedure but i dont think its a great idea.
besides those whiners need to get off there @$$ and do something the reason why these things get high priced now is because its not that hard to get money. I get like 1k at least when doing a mission, selling crap to merchant. I dont see why theres so much trouble. Loans should be aquired from FRIENDS and/or GUILD MEMBERS. Or maybe alliance members

Completely unnecessary. There's about 50 other trade improvements that anet could spent their time on instead of this.

Also, like Alleji said, there are a lot of other improve ments, taht would probably be better than this and possibly easier to make too.

Here are a couple of tips.
1. Quit running thru the game and you will find you actually make some decent cash.
2. Nothing in the game that you MUST have costs more than 1.5K + some crafting materials (and you may find some people that say max armor isn't even required.)
The big problem here is that everyone thinks they NEED 15K armor and gold perfect rare skin weapons. I had no problem getting thru both prophicies and factions with a character with max armor (not 15K), a purple NOT max damage weapon, and only 2 minor runes and a major vigor. This was also all PUG's, no help from guildies! Learn to play the game and after awhile money really starts to mean nothing, and once that happens you will realize that you have a fair bit o coin stashed away and you can afford that rare skin max gold item that you WANT, not NEED!
So I take out a loan, have an empty storage and inventory (except armor and my weapons of course) and i dont have enough to repay the loan. So i log in to find my armor and weapons are gone and I still owe the loan guy 150K, I don't think so!

They just need to but more Gs in the game as I am not even that close to getting 1 set of 15k for 1 of my char and I have been playing since release of April 27th preorder 2005 as I started in Fed 05 in beta.

if you are really poor you can get a set of max armor from collectors.
Still loan thing is bad, if you get a couple copies of the game you could simply get loans, get rid of that account. I mean you would like be your own ebay, and ebay buying gold is bad mmkk

Ahh ppl and loans, and their silly little credit cards.
get out of the habbit of being a debtor.
Ppl with multiple accounts could bounce their debt around and exploit such a thing.
Its an okayish idea, but I personally dont see the need. Need money, go make it, farm, redo missions, run ppl etc.

.... What the ? , Loans ? We already have the Buying and Selling Economy ( for those that dont know, people that spend days in towns spamming WTS and WTB, just to make 5k profit on a item that they bought, for example:
Player 1: WTS SWORD !! 1K
Player 2: I buy,
Player 2: WTS SWORD!! 2K
Thats already a horrible waste of time that people spend trying to get some gold just to get whatever, then they get a perfect weapon and go around calling other people noobs, saying look i got this u dont .
There is very easy ways to earn money in this game and some of them is that, then theres farming, then theres chest hunting and lets not forget, play the game , misssions and quests and you ll find yourself with atleast 20k with just questing and missioning all day .
Loans = Bad in real life because of taxes and the extra % you have to pay and Bad = In guildwars because everyone would get a Loan, everyone would have a great weapon, then those great weapons would be worth NOTHING, and then no one could pay back the loan and they wouldnt want those weapons anymore because they werent "cool" anymore.
