I appear to have some conflicting information about doing Tyrian quests, when I have moved over from Cantha with my Canthan character, maybe someone can explain why, or if I'm doing something wrong.
I bought Factions first and liked it so much I decided to buy Prophecies also, my problem is I'm not getting any money for the quests, unlike the canthan continent, I receive shields, swords, staffs, skills and other generally useless pieces of tat. I asked someone who said they did get money for Tyrian quests, although they did start with a Tyrian character in Ascalon.
Am I supposed to get money for quests in Tyria, or because I've come from Cantha am I not 'elligable'?? Do Tyrian characters get money for quests they complete on the Canthan continent?
Thanks in advance.
Canthan Characters doing Tyrian Quests

I'm not sure if this is the right answer for yor question, but since you played factions before prophecies you are used to faction quests. In prophecies many of the quests don't give any money unlike factions where almost all quests have some money reward.
I have a canthan charr in Tyria and I did some quests and everything is quite normal.
Hope I solved your problem!

Ah well, if it's normal, I guess I have nothing to be too concerned about. Thanks for the response.
I feel the Tyrian Authorities should stop being so tight-fisted. I want money - not a little wooden shield! What is an elementalist going to do with one of those??

Unlike in Cantha, Tyrian characters get most of their skills as quest rewards. They don't have to buy them. So it isn't necessary that they get a lot of gold and goodies for doing quests. If you start a character in Prophecies rather than Factions, you'll see the difference.
