Any easy to aquire green will be "farmed to death". But that just means it will be cheap to buy. I fail to see how this is a problem

It would have to be a FDS skin for the sword, and the shield will have to have the same skin as it had when you fought him (I can't remember what it was). Since those skins already exist, that means the only things we need left are the stats and name for the sword and shield. We would have to keep them to items that already spawn in order to preserve game balance.
Maybe:
Prince Ruriks Sword
Fire damage (its a fiery dragon sword, no other prefix mod would fit)
+20% damage while under 50% hp (how many games have you played where your beating on some of the final bosses, its nearly dead, only to become more powerful that what it was when you first saw it)
of Charrslaying (Rurik hates the Charr)
Ruriks Shield
Strength based
Recieved damage -5 (20% chance) - IMO the worst damage reduction option for shields, but Rurik is an idiot while hes out ally, and doesn't get a chance to do anything dumb or smart while our enemy.
Health +45 while enchanted - He doesn't get enchanted, see above for why this fits.
