But I guess, ok fine, as long as they dont add $49.99 for 3 months of gameplay. I think its funny how Diablo II expansion costed $49.99, only had 1 new act and bunch of new weapons. I think since ANET is BLIZZARD, and POPULAR, they make expansions $49.99, cuz people will buy lol.

I highly doubt Arena Net would make these stand alone games just to get more money. I'm about 99.9999999999999999999999% postitive that they did this to attract new players.
For example,
*Prophecies comes out*
*Joe Smoe sees it, and has never played GW before*
Joe Smoe: "Ahhh. That looks dumb and boring. I don't want it."
*Factions comes out*
*Joe Smoe sees it*
Joe Smoe: "Hmmm, looks interesting, and I don't need prophecies. Cool! I thnk I'll buy it."
*Joe Smoe buys Factions*
*Joe Smoe ends up really liking GW so he changes his mind about prophecies being "dumb and boring" and buys prophecies. Then when new GW's comes out he buys all of those too.*
Now if you needed prophecies because it was a "core" game and all the other guild wars were expansion packs.
*Prophecies comes out*
*Joe Smoe sees it, and has never played GW before*
Joe Smoe: "Ahhh. That looks dumb and boring. I don't want it."
*Factions comes out*
*Joe Smoe sees it*
Joe Smoe: "Hmmm, looks interesting. Oh, but it's an expansion pack, and I need the "core" game prophecies, which looks dumb and boring. I don't think I will ever buy Factions, because I would need to waste money on prophecies to play it. Doesn't seem worth it to me."
*Joe Smoe never buys Factions just because of this and never looks into buying other GW games for the same reason.*
*Arena Net loses a potential customer*
At least that is my view of why they do this.
Woah. Thats wierd. I just relized I quoted that and I don't remeber why I did so. O_o lol Oh well.
