A Question about Jadite Shards

I'm looking to get the 15K armore for my Ranger and it requires about 100 Jadite Shards. Can anyone tell me where the best place to farm them would be?

well if you don't this already then let me tell you...
only place as far as i know to get jadite shard is to trade 1k luxon faction for 1 shard.. now to get faction you can do quests or you can do Alliance battle if you're in a Luxon faction.
P.S.... your ranger doesn't require 100.... its more like 80 jadeite

1000 Faction = 1 Jadite (or Amber for Kurz). Trade faction with the git that offers "Faction Rewards" whichever side you're on...Lux or Kurz. The quickest and easiest way to farm Faction, IMO is Ft. Aspenwood. And, for me, it's the most fun

They do drop from mobs too but drops are rare and random, it would take an eternity to collect them this way, you are better off exchanging faction as llsektorll suggests or look for players selling them in-game. You could always wait and get the 15k endgame armor that doesn't require Jadeite.

I got my ele 15k armor and after finishing off about 15k worth of faction, maybe even 20 before i got tired. i didnt do any of the repeatable quests. i did some of the pvp missions you get faction from. mostly i ended up buying the rest of my jadite, since prices have gone down it didnt hurt my purse too badly. took me a few weeks to make enough money but i got my last piece this weekend =D

Jadite Shards can drop from jade brotherhood outside of the marketplace (and anywhere else) but in order to make any progress u have to be able to solo them. I sometimes solo them with a basic 55 monk build, but i still do die a lot.

At less than 1k per jade at the rare material trader, it might actually be easier and faster for you to go farm for money and then buy your 80 jade. =P

Jade and Amber can also be EXPERT salvaged off Jade weapons and Amber Weapons. Best is plain white drops of those weapons because then you dont salvage off some useless mods.
You could spam WTB Plain white Jade weapons and salvage them, its not a bad way to buy some cheap weapons and salvage them for a decent profit also.

Does anyone know the percentage for salvaging those types of things.
For example, for amber wands...
Say you bought every amber weapon for 100, then then salvaged them.
About one in ten would need to be amber to actually make a profit, I believe. So...is this worth it?

QFT. With Amber and Jade so cheap now, you can save a lot of time just buying.

I haven't had any luck with jadeite, I have however had 1 plain white amber weapon salvage into a chunk of amber. Probability of salvaging, I would imagine, is about as good as getting one off a mob drop. Faster to faction farm, or buy.

Just confirming - I've expert salvaged out Jade from white items (i.e. no mods; Highly Salvageable isn't necessary).
Also confirming - it's revoltingly rare and you're better off just merching the items for cash and then buying Jade off someone.

I've salvaged about 300 amber weapons and only got 1 amber no jade

An Alliance battle that lasts like 10-15 minutes at most gives you 1.2k faction...so like 8-9 battles gives you the 10kcap and 10 jadite.
and you get other factions too..

Same here, I've only ever salvaged 1 amber chunk from a purple weapon, although a Jade Brotherhood Knight dropped a Jadeite shard earlier which was nice

I've gotten a couple shards off outcasts in Rhea's Crater.
But still....what the others said...just buy them from people. Easiest way. USED to be supply runs before that was nerfed.

im sorry to say this but......getting 15k luxon for ranger was a waste of money, IMO the 1.5k ranger armor looks soo much better than the 15.
but if your set on getting the 15k go for it
it looks friggin awesome with red+dye remover, trust me

Anyways before I invest in anything 15k or above, I search the ss expo forum and wiki for ss's. For my female necro I thought fissure was the coolest looking (my av), and for male rit I thought 15k kurz was the best looking (kinda Voltron-esque). So I got them after doing window shopping.
