We were all hanging out in the Guild Hall when an Officer, on his second account, lets us know that he was going AFK, leaving his secondary logged-on. While he was away, a Guildie noticed that his primary account was no longer on the Officer's roster and that it was no longer on the Guild roster at all. This of course gets us to wondering what, exactly, was going on.
We all tried to PM our Guildie, hoping to get his attention, but to no avail. We then added his primary account to our friend's list just to see if he was in-game…he was. We began to suspect that his account had been hijacked so when one of us contacted him, we pretended to have money that was owed to him. In response he asked to borrow 5k with a promise to pay it back ASAP. We knew then that our Guildie's account was no longer his, and that there was no way to contact him to let him know. One by one, each of his characters on his primary account logged-on for approx 3-4 minutes and after about 15 minutes there was no further activity from the account. He had been hijacked, and there was nothing that we could do to help.
As we've done in the past, our Guild will come together and get our friend back on his feet.
Some of you may say that it was prolly his own fault, and maybe you'd be correct. But regardless of what he may, or may not, have done, what happened to him is inexcusable.
I will not speculate on how or why this happened.

Clearly whoever it was clearing out each of the characters items, gold and armor.
This is the reason I change my password often, and make them long and complex. And never leave myself logged in, unless its at home.
Our Guildie has reported in, and yes his account was hijacked.
All I have to say is that the trust you have in a friend in is a terrible thing to loose.
That was the worst part for several members of our Guild who could do nothing but watch. Hence the thread title. Knowing what's going on and being unable to stop it sucks.

if he gives it out to one person you know of how many others did he give out to trusted friends?
1. a separate GW email you tell no one about composed of maximum number of random letters/numbers @ whatever
2. a maximum letter/number password you use for the game and nowhere else. and tell nobody
3 scan for spyware (keyloggers) EVERY time before logging into the game.
that is MINIMUM security to protect your account.
meh... ._. no one knows my account password..not even me >.< (always forgets)...heck no one even knows my account email because its not tied or related to any names/aliases i use in game.
I think im more sad for the broken trust than losing the account.
GW is just a game. But people...friends....that shit is real >.<
