As many of you might have noticed the same that guild wars has doubled the mb ram to play it

i'm lagging like hell so i'm compiling a new pc but... I kinda have no idea what to buy to make gw non lagable

Questions I got?

- Is watercooling hardware dangerious?
- What is the maximum mb ram a processor/motherboard can handle atm?
- What video/graphics card should I buy?
- Possible to make it 1,000 gig? ( with/without external harddrives )
- DvD/Cd rewriter / burner / indrive which is the best version?
- Sound card?

Budget: doesn't matter! aslong as this pc will last for quete a while!

any ideas are most likely welcome!

watercooling is safe and effective.

not needed unless you are an insane overclocker.

depends if you use a home or server motherboard.

home at present is 4 gigs running in a pair of dual channel mode

check nvidia/ati for the latest/best out there

a terabyte is easy and internal at that

dvd burner/rewriter has several good brands

check creative for the best/latest sound

you can also check PC Gamer magazine for their dream machine issue to have a no expences barred machine that will blow anything out of the water.

edit

we are talking 10k+ on the price here

- Is watercooling hardware dangerious? No, just go custom or not at all.
- What is the maximum mb ram a processor/motherboard can handle atm? 4GB+, you should never buy more than 2GB for gaming, anything more is wasted.
- What video/graphics card should I buy? X1900XT gets my vote.
- Possible to make it 1,000 gig? ( with/without external harddrives ) Yes, you can buy 2 x 500GB hard drives, why you would ever need this much space is beyond me.
- DvD/Cd rewriter / burner / indrive which is the best version? Depends on personal preferance, I don't have a preferance as the speeds don't matter to me.
- Sound card? The X-Fi's are really good for gaming.

IMO pick up a Conroe or AM2. That'll get you the best upgrade path, price drops for AMD products on the 24th, and Conroe is released on the 14th.

Conroe blasts any current processor out of the water, including dual core AMDs, apparently (according to some benchmarks i saw somewhere)

So go for that for an ultimate gaming cpu which will last you a long, long time
