Rt can be prot and heal, and it differs a lot from how monk does it. Rt can go restoration dmg (Khanei, Vengeful), can go communing dmg with spirits, and Channeling with spells. Can even go MM.|

But does it matter? I think 15k luxon Rt armor is adorable. Others are nice. The fact that you cant buy anything in Tyria doesnt mean much at all. You're gonna spend most of your time, if not all, holding ashes. No one will even see the weapons you use, nor will you use it. Weapons for most Ritualists are obsolete, it's the only class which can be truly weapon-independent I dont think this should be argument in what to choose. As you said, he should go with what he finds fun playing Again, i dont like the discussions what profession is the best. Someone loves elementalist, i find it boring. Someone loves warriors, i find em boring cause everyone plays it. Someone loves necro armor, meh i think it's ugly and i dont like necros. Since game is pretty good balanced compared to other games i've played, there's absolutely no reason to play something you dont like. And PUG groups.. who cares. Btw i had lvl20 mesmer in Tyria and dont recall having problems with groups. And in Factions mesmers are stronger. |

Agreed again. I find both can be fun and depending on what your secondary profession is, it can be even more fun. I think 15k luxon Rt armor is adorable. Others are nice. No, it doesn't matter about whether or not you can buy things (at least to me), but it may be something others may consider. Weapon-independent? You can say that about Monks, Mesmers, Elementalists, and Necromancers. Not one of them truly needs to attack with a weapon (unless you choose a Meleemancer or IW Warrior, etc.) But extra energy and health from weapons and off-hand items can be useful.|

But yes, some armor may not look as appealing. No one argues with your profession when you start your own group or when someone asks for "need one more person for mission". In Factions definitely, Mesmers are stronger (not that they aren't strong in Tyria).  |
