So i dont have any more character slots but i really want to try a ritualist as it sounds fun to play. I was thinking about deleting my mesmer to make a ritualist. So any suggestions on why i should delete my mesmer to make a ritualist will help in the decision process. Thanks in advance.

Wait till they enable it and then buy another character slot n make Rt

Ok seriously, since mesmer is my #1 profession im not going to say 'delete it'. Im going to say 'delete that necro, if none then warrior, if none then ele' :P

As for Ritualist, not everyone likes it. Personally, i've been playing it all the time, love it. It's the best thing since sliced bread

I like the Mesmer. Don't delete is unless you really don't like it.

If you want to delet anything it should be:

Assassin
Elementalist
Mesmer
Warrior
Ranger
Necromancer
Monk

The reason for this list is because of the demand in a PUG. While elementalists requested (nuker), it isn't always the best or necessary to have. Mesmers offer a bit more than an elementalist (I think).

If the Mesmer doesn't spark your fancy like the other professions, then I suppose you should delete the Mesmer and take the Ritualist.

Good luck in your decision

I dont think someone should create characters based on PUG demand. On contrary, i dont have pve warrior or ele because of that very reason. Everyone and his dog use it.

PvE characters should be picked based on fun, and if ur a good player ur make the character useful. In Prophecies, so many were screaming how mesmer was horrible, but truth is mesmer was alright in the hands of experienced and creative player

I couldnt bear with deleting my chars again.(I once deleted my necro and then missed being one so I recreated him about a month later )

If the character you want to delete is close to its 1 year birthday you may want to wait to get your mini pet first.

PvE characters should be picked based on fun. Sadly, how much fun can you have if no one wants to play with you.

I've only been in 2 groups now that have ever requested for a Mesmer. One in I think Iron Mines (or Thunderhead Keep), the other on a mission in Factions. I've never been in a group where people hated mesmers, just that people don't see the advantage of a mesmer over a Monk, Warrior, Ranger, Necro, or Nuker. If a group has 2 monks, and a spot left over, (other members being 2 warriors, necro, ele, ranger) they would sooner get another necro, warrior, ele, monk, or even a ranger over a mesmer. I don't know why

Anyway, its still based on your preference. We can tell you the good things about a mesmer, the bad things about a ritualist. But why bother? If you find that you don't like playing a mesmer because you don't know how to play it to its optimum, and you are not having fun, then change.

Personally, I don't have a primary Mesmer, but I love my N/Me and the Mesmer part comes in quite handy in the later parts of both Factions & Prophecies.
