What the update DIDN'T say..

Remember the shield you used to get from the collector outside of rankor for Frosted Griffon Wings but then they moved it and made it available only for Bleached Shells?

Crimson Carapace Shield
Armor: 16 (Req. 9 Tactics)
Health +45 (while in a Stance)
Reduced Damage -2 (while in a Stance)

Well I got one, before the switched it, for my ranger while running or whatnot.. now I log on today and see what used to be that awesome shield turn into this:



Did I miss something here..?

My guess is this: the update 'fixed' old items to be in line with their newer counterparts (ala Rockmolder). Since it also 'updated' all shields to use correct 'base' (no attribute) +AL, it probably changed all shields obtained from the same location to identical stats. If you had gotten your +45/-2 shield in the desert the way my R/W did, you would still have the stats you quote. Since you got your shield before the collector was changed, your shield was updated in the same fashion the Rockmolder was.

On the plus side, you only need 2 Bleached Shells to get your copy of the +45/-2 shield and the shells don't cost nearly as much as they did when it took 5 of them.

Figured that much.. kind of cheating me in a way but hey that's anet =p. Oh well, it's wurm hunting I go!

Not sure what has happened to your shield... mine is still like this:

A lot of people had their shield change, so I'm sure it'll be addressed in another patch soon. Email support to get it fixed faster.

Aww I liked my 20/20 rockmolder, it was a cool collector item

your lookin at the wrong shield, they didnt change the whole shield, its -2 vs physical attacks only now, and if it didnt change some ppl's shields, im pretty mad, cuz i want it all changed now. all the same boat pls.

My housemate's +45/-2 stance shield from camp rankor changed into a +60/-3 hexed shield when the patch landed.

You're saying some of the -2 stance shields didn't update to the new stats/new wording? That would be the bug then, because the current update seems to have 'fixed' all existing items it 'updated.' My R/W has a +45/-2 stance shield from the desert but the wording has changed to reflect -2 is against physical only, and my N/Me's +5 energy wand from outside Nolani Academy no longer has other cool stats :_(

I think only the Crimson Carapace shields from Rankor (before they were changed initially to 60hp/-3 dmg when hexed) have been fixed.

My Stance Carapace shield was also changed to a hexed version.

I never had the hexed version of this shield, so I am not looking at the wrong shield.

I can only assume they changed any that were purchased outside of Camp Ranknor to their Hexed replacements. I've had the shield for almost a year, and remember specifically getting it outside Ranknor.

yea, they changed the ones purchased at Camp, before the ones at Camp were changed. They changed them to reflect the current Camp shields I seems.

Another silent update, is the change in wording on shouts.

Yes I got my Crimson outside Rankor long ago and it now is a hexed version....they ruined my shields...

uh no it didnt, there never was a +45/-2 shield there... do you live in a cave?

uh ok fine, i guess it might have been there at some point, then thats one old shield. i guess they wanted to make it only avaliable from desert then. heh

no big deal anyway, who cares?

I got my stance shield from the dessert collector, did they change it? I was thinking of getting the hex version, should check it out once i get home.

My stance shield from the desert collector is fine.

Alot of people do, there was no sense in changing those shields, it just pissed everyone off...well not everyone, just the people that got that shield before the location to get it was changed.

Don't start flaming people because you haven't played the game as long as they have. Yes there was a 45/-2 shield there, but it was changed months ago in an update. I suggest you get your facts right before you make even more of a fool of yourself.
