Level 5+ Pre-Searing Monsters
xDem0nic_Requi3mx
I've been doing a lot of searching and haven't seem to find my answer.
I'm looking to level up on level 5 pre-searing monsters.
Ones I know of are the:
Rogue Bull (seen)
___ Drake (heard of haven't seen).
I was wondering if there were any others, especially if they are close to a town/outpost.
Note: I don't want to be fighting charr just yet, I am trying to get survivor title and I don't want to die fighting them.

Gonzo
Lighting Drake (I think) exit Ascalon, go left, at the lake there there is a level 5 drake.
I think that's about it.

Just checked it out it's a River Drake.

If that's the case, may I ask why?

if you want survivor in pre-sear its gonna take a long time. the fastest and possibly only way to get lvl 20 in pre-sear needs you to die, therefore taking away your title.

Cantha is the best place to get survivor tbh
yeah_hi
I think there is a lvl 5 Oakheart fairly near Fort Ranik, past some Spiders & Aloes.
EDIT: There is Skullreaver (lvl 5) in the catacombs too, but he's far, far away from an outpost
ANOTHER EDIT: There's that River Skale Brood under the waterfall by Ashford Abbey as well, but I can't remember if it's lvl 4 or 5.

Much faster to get EXP and easier.
Also this should have been posted in the Q&A forum.
King's Spectre
I assume he's just trying to level up a bit in Pre before moving on to get survivor.
These may be level 4's, I can't remember for sure. There's an Oak Heart thinggy southeast of Fort Ranik (sp?). There's also a warrior boss in the catacombs, you have to go down that long hall filled with undead.

Former Ruling
You can't get Survivor title in presearing. Nothing gives you experience after the charr stop.
The only way to get to lvl20 is to die over and over to level up the enemies - which ends the survivor track.

there are a lot of lvl 5 oak hearts north of the wall,u just need to find sum1 who will open the gate for u and then leave. and try and leave the quest rewards til as late as possible, the amount of exp they give dosent change with your level

there are some lvl 8 Grawl too, when you do the "Over the wall" quest. I have seen many who went for lvl 20 helping others with that quest. It will not be easy, and you might prolly be the first, when you get survivor title there.

To be honest it's much easier to level up on Charr post-searing rather than pre-searing.
Level 8 Charr vs. you in pre-sear armor
or
Level 8 Charr vs. you in post sear armor
The choice seems fairly obvious.

You cannot reach lvl20 in pre anymore. It has been nerfed. Grrr
Because foes dont lvl if they kill you.
Lvl 16 is max now. (by killing Charr Bosses wit lvl10)

:edit: I see above.

A warning to anyone trying for Survivor in Tyria - if you die during the "PvP" part of the Academy, you will lose the title! The deaths in there count towards the /deaths command, as opposed to the ones during the Monastery Overlook walkthrough and the cutscene at the end of Vizunah Square.
The easiest way to get Survivor is probably something along the lines of:
-start out in Cantha;
-do all easy XP quests;
-do not attack anything that doesn't aggro you (all level 2 and below things);
-get out of Shing Jea Island without dying (problematic because of Zen Daijun);
-get a run from the Marketplace to Kaineng Center (or walk if you like living on the edge );
-do Chaos in Kryta quest.
From here you either get a run to Sanctum Cay and buy/beg/work your way through the desert and ascension, or get a run backwards to Beacon's Perch and then down to Droknar's Forge. Once at the Forge, all you need to do is get someone to power level you by farming trolls while you jack up XP gain with scrolls. If you have the right class combination and like 'living dangerously' you could even farm trolls on your own, but paying someone seems to be the safest (albeit the most expensive) way of getting massive XP needed for the Survivor title, and less time consuming than trying to tag along with Chinese farming bots
The fact that the Survivor title can be 'bought' rather than 'earned' is why some people have started disliking it as much as the Drunkard title.

Just stand in some rez shrine, and let you kill over and over by some random foe. This foe gains xp and lvls up (max lvl20). So you can kill it to gain xp again.
But this does not work anymore. not in pre and not in post.

if youre in tyria in presearing, there is a huge group of river skale in the river in regent valley that leads to the small town where ranger aidan is. they are all lvl 4 and theres like 20 of them. sorry i cant give you better directions than that as its been a while since i was in presearing.

Getting to level 17 is maximum by killing the level 8 Charr untill level 14 (no, not Grawl, they don't excist), then killing the level 10 Charr untill level 16, then doing all the quest, which gets you to level 17. Doing this without dying is very hard though.
Level 20 used to be possible when you could lure the Charr to the gate that leads you to the Northlands, but that got nerfed about 6 months ago. After that it was possible by leveling Striders outside Ashford Abbey (it was actually only possible with items from post-searing to reduce Health, unless you felt like spending 6 months leveling Striders), but this got nerfed recently. Both of these ways would lose your title anyway though.

Then... some damned Ele started Flaring me or Fireballing me I can't recall which skill it is:
Me: "Hey I'm going for Survivor title bugger off!"
*Only just tanking Ele's attack with Troll Unguent and +30AL vs Elemental Damage*
Ele: "You should fight and win properly not hide in the corner..."
Me: "You said you aint gonna' kill me"
*Ignite Arrows*
*Dual Shot*
*Powershot*
Ele: "Damn"
I survived that... Only to die at level 18/19 from some damned Maguuma Spiders ambushing me!

I am not trying to get survivor in presearing.
I just didn't want to die in the pvp sequence while going to post searing.
Exiting the game to skip the PVP sequence DOES count as a loss, atleast it did on my mesmer recently.
I do know that it is much easier in cantha to get the survivor title, but I really like how my tyrian elementalist looks
I think I covered all the questions/misunderstandings.

Me and a friend made characters in tyria to get survivor and when we went in the academy we just walked all the way back from where you start and you can go back quite far where you can hide for the 2 minutes.
