I am intrested in buying a new laptop for under a grand. I was looking at a toshiba Satiliete. I want to have word on it, be able to play guildwars and watch movies, any recomandations? BTW, I want to be able to play the game at a steady frame rate, b/c on my computer right now it is terrible. I dont care to much for shiny graphics, just fast gameplay.

Well all I can say is the most important thing is that you get one with a 'real' graphics card not an onboard one.

Any current notbook should have the CPU power to play the game fine, and with 1 GB of ram you should be safe.

Avoid Radeon Xpress200 and any GeForce FX GPU. Emphasis on the FX. Also avoid GeForce 6100 or 6150 as those are IGPs like Xpress200.

Ideally you'd want a Radeon X700 or X1600 or higher, excluding X1300 and X1400. For a GeForce, the 6600 and up is best, and avoid 7300 and 7400 if possible.

It's complicated. Just come back and ask if you find a machine you think is ok.

Yeah. I have a Satellite M35x-s109 (w/onboard graphics) and I can solo with it but not much else. The main things to get in a laptop would be an actual video card and 512+ RAM.
