Well,since the fiasco that was todays patch,I do believe the addition of shields that allow warriors to be given a -2/-3/-5 damage agaisnt elemental attacks would be in order.Its basicly your same shield,except the physical damage is turned into elemental.

Examples:
Crimson Shield
16 Armor Req 9 Strength/Tactics
-2 Elemental Damage (While in a Stance)
+45 Health (While in Stance)

Bronze Shield
16 Armor Req 9 Strength/Tactics
-2 Elemental Damage (While Enchanted)
+45 Health (While Enchanted)

Wooden Shield
16 Armor Req 9 Strength/Tactics
-3 Elemental Damage (While Hexed)
+60 Health (While Hexed)

Generic Shield #3465562
16 Armor Req 9 Strength/Tactics
-5 Elemental Damage (20%)
+30 Health

would love mine to be like -2 ele dmg / stance -2 ele dmg / enchanted or somethen, WARRIORS HAVE PLENTY OF physical resistance, WE DONT NEED IT THERE, NEED ELE RESISTANCE.... and -3 (sup absorb) vs ele dmg

Well, so long as nobody even thinks about making this just for chapter 3... that's going to piss off an awful lot more people. Oh, and I'd like my -2/-2 shield replaced, preferably for next to no cost and with a reasonably nice skin as it took a big effort to get the old one.

Signed. Currently, the crafters in Maatu Keep, Vasburg, and Leviathan Pits don't offer anything new compared to Kaineng. There's room for expansion, or even to use the out-of-the-way crafters like the one near Breaker Hollow.

Hexed guy can go near Baubao Wavewrath of course...

a warrior is a tank...its what he does..
ok for the ele dmg reduction but generic reduction was best..

now you have a game with no tanks
come on anet..

1 every 2 skills in game can disable a warrior
he has no protection against hexes or degeneration..
and his best (and only) healing skill has -40 armor anyway.....
thats ouch..


there are more serious builds and stuff to be nerfed..

enough with the warrior hate....

Thats exactly the point. Warriors aren't supposed to be tank-everything, they are tank-attackers.

Warrior>Ranger>Elementalist>Warrior (Necros and Mesmers have various skills that can counter any of these if they wish)
It balances out the game alot more now that you don't need a penetrating attack or armor ignoring mesmer/necro/smite skill to kill a warrior.

I also like the idea of a new elemental absorbtion rune. I'd easily give up some tactics or something to get some elemental resistance back.

While the recent updates to Warrior equipment don't bother me all that much (380 Health warrior in full Dragon Armor [pre-AL Updates] and no Absorption Rune ftw?), I do agree that it creates some problems. I would very much like to see some new equipment that gives us damage reduction from elemental sources, so that we Warriors may choose what we wish to defend against, as opposed to having damage reduction from a source of damage that doesn't hurt us that badly anyway.

I'll sign it if the shields are specific to a particular element (-2 vs fire damage, etc), and if the shields are obtained from collectors by collecting something related to the type of damage its protecting from (frozen shells for a vs cold shield). My idea was something along the lines of the shield made in the movie dragonslayer (made from dragon scales to protect against a dragon). I posted ideas about this in the 'Damage reductions is vs physical only' thread. BTW, I primarily play a warrior and was one of teh ones that kept suggesting to Gaile and ANet in various posts to fix the knight's armour. I wasn't counting on the shields and runes though lol..

making it vs all elements just doesn't sound right. elementalists can't even do that with their armour.

I would prefer a shield with -damage to what really kills warriors, Shadow damage. It's what most necro skills are, including my favorite, Spiteful Spirit.
