I'm really fed up with all these people/scammers selling Altheas Ashes, Jotaros letter and now even elonian mirriors. Please Anet, make quest items customized to end all the trading between people too damn lazy to play the game.
(worst thing is, the part about selling elonian mirriors is true, seen people do it in the marketplace...)

Why would you care what someone else does in the game that in no way effects you?
They are doing nothing wrong, and certainly aren't "scamming" people because they are offering something you don't want.
You could just ignore those "people too damn lazy to play the game" as you call them and move on.

Exactly how trading elonian mirriors isn't scamming is beyond me. They have no use what so ever unless you have the quest, and when you get the quest you also get the three mirrors needed to complete it.
But ok, maybe scamming is a bad word, exploiting new players might be a bit better. Selling the letter for 4k (seen peope advertise with "WTB kidnapped letter 2-4k" several times), selling the mirrors for whatever amount etc. is all about taking advantage of new players.

It's quest item trading and running that made this game feel like an actual PVP game rather than a PVE game. Once you go through, you discover that you can just get characters through with relative ease. Unfortunately they got rid of running in factions, but hopefully they'll bring it back in later editions when they see people are unhappy.

If someone said they were selling Naga Pelt and instead sold you a Naga Hide, then THAT is scamming. |
