Greetings fellow ritualists,
I am looking for some guidance on mastering my ritualist in PvE. So far I am pretty happy with my ritualist and I think I finally found the class which suits me best (after trying elementalist, mesmer and monk) thanks to its versatility and complexity. Due to high demand most of the time I concentrated on my healing powers, however (which is absolutely ok for me).
Since I have not reached level 20 so far my repertoire of spells is a bit limited I fear. In most cases I use the following spells: Weapon of Warding
Resilient Weapon
Bloodsong
Recuperation
Spirit Transfer
Spirit Light
Soothing Memories
Flesh of My Flesh
I use Bloodsong mainly as a batterie for Spirit Transfer since only the spirit of Bloodsong has reached level 8 yet and therefore enough life to spent. I tried Shelter and Union but didn't find it too useful in PvE because these spirits were dying too fast due to the high amount of mobs beating on my comrades.
Maybe Vital Weapon instead of Resilient Weapon and Mend Body and Soul instead of Soothing Memories would work too? And what about Vengeful Weapon? Is it useful in PvE?
What I really miss, however, is some kind of group heal if things get nasty. But it seems to me that I will need Consume Soul for this since Spirit to Flesh applies to nerby allies only? Dispite the fact that both spells would destroy one spirit.
As you can see there's still a lot to learn for me =) Maybe you can give me some hints, tips or tactics on my way to become a better ritualist? =)
Thanks in advance,
Cho Gi

Well my friend you have'nt done to bad picking out some useful spells and such to take, however i would drop resilient weapon (some like it ..but meh its just to conditional for me ) and go with vengeful weapon.
As for spirits i would drop bloodsong, since it does'nt really fit anywhere, and take Life, as this will give you an extra battery to replace bloodsong AND solves your party heal problem.
EDIT: Heres a pretty standard build based around those skills
Vengeful Weapon
Weapon of Warding
Mend Body & Soul (or spirit Transfare)
Spirit Light
Life
Recouperation
Spirit Channeling [e] / Expel Hexes [e] (when you cap them :P )
Resz Sig/ Flesh of my Flesh

If you're only using Bloodsong as spell foddar, consider exchanging it for Life. Lower recycle and the Heal Party on death may provide you with an unexpected boost to your healing, instead of the loss many fear. This will allow you to place more in Resto as well, and Spawning power for those occasions when Recuperation is agroed.
I like Vengful Weapon for healing, but I don't reccomend a thrid weapon spell on your bar.
There is an excelent heal spike build in this forum by TeeGee:

This may assist you more in the direction you wish to go.
Ultimately, I suggest you make a gradual progression away from resto, as you evolve. The protective power of Commune with Rit Lord is on par with prot monks in most cases, surpassing in others. While the Elite Required for a Ritual Lord build is found later in the game, keep this powerful skill in mind for later build ideas.

Thanks for your feedback!
Of course it is much better to use Life instead of Bloodsong. I really wonder why I haven't figured this out myself. Maybe the spirit of Bloodsong ensnared my mind ;-)
