Im looking to buy a laptop for school next year, I was wondering if you had any suggestions on what to buy. I want it to run guildwars fast and look somewhat good. Also, am I able to transfer my charcter from PC to PC? I dont want to spend more than one grand though...

Guild Wars is account based, so yes you will have no problems using the same account on another computer. Your individual character information is saved on a server, as oppose to your computer.

Laptop wise I myself cannot give you a specific laptop, but I can give some suggestions.
  • Avoid onboard graphics, 1600's and higher would be best.
  • 1GB RAM and up are prefered, you can someitmes get deals by getting lappies with less and manually upgrading.
  • CPU wise, little matters here, most games rely mainly on the GPU and RAM. Pentium M would be preferred IMO.

Here's my suggestion, instead of speading $1500+ on a good laptop that's good for school and gaming. Spend $500 on a good desktop that's good with playing GW and a $300 laptop for school.

After all, why you want to have GW on your laptop? You're not going to play GW in class are you?
