Poll: Who's Quitting or Considering Quitting?
ShadowStorm
I'm considering leaving Guild Wars until Chapter 3 or longer, depending on what the reviews from my friends of chapter 3 are like.
I'm at that point where the only thing left for me to do is farm or pvp. I've filled all my character slots already. I've already tricked out every single one of them with at least 15K armor (some characters with multiple sets) and vanity skin items. I'm sitting on about 150K that I have no idea what to spend it on. I've gotten 80% of the titles I want on at least one of my characters, and I don't think I'm willing to take the time to get the other 20% of them. I only have 1 character that hasn't beaten Factions and 1 character that hasn't beaten Prophesies.
I'm stuck.

Still having a blast. The warrior changes has caused me to rejuggle my warrior armors and seek some new shields, but in the end all of that will likely cost me around 100K (ignoring the devaluation of my current possessions). Not that bad of an impact, IMO.
If you're up to a challenge, why not trying to solo areas (without henchmen or a 55 build) with some of your characters? Start off slow either in Prophecies or in Factions (I recommend starting in the Maguuma Jungle or outside of the Marketplace if you've never done it before).
If you truly enjoy a challenge, this is one of the ways to go. Heck, I'm soloing with a Ritualist right now, and am absolutely loving it for the difficulty aspect alone.

As far as polls go, actually a fansite forum poll can be accurate. When they do polls nationwide, they certainly can't poll every single person... they take a sampling of people, ask them a question and from there give us results. A fansite poll is just as accurate as any other poll of GW players. Most people ignore any such surveys/polls anyway. Those that are interested in a game and willing to give an opinion on it are a more accurate sampling.
I know some MMOG's that actually give an exit poll when deciding to quit, but since Guild Wars has no monthly fee or billing cycle they can't accurately get this information anyway. Alas, this is the only option and something that I would think ArenaNet would glance at. Granted, many who say they are going to quit don't, many who say they will stay end up leaving. But it's still a good gauge to find out the overall general feeling of a community.
Oh! and I'm staying for my answer. (I know, big shocker there.)

To me quiting would mean that I delete it from my hard drive and install something else. I live in the West. Nothing is for free.

I dunno, I guess I'm in the minority for REALLY liking Factions. I wish it were as big as Prophecies but I thought the quality was excellent.
Pretty soon I'll reach my goals for Factions and play less often until chapter 3 comes out. I'm anticipating the Civ expansion and will be spending a lot of time with that.
But quitting Guild Wars? Hell no.
What I can't understand is, what are people who have quit, or planning to quit, still doing lingering around these forums? When I'm really into something, I spend a lot of time reading about it online, and as I lose interest, I stop.

I put "considering leaving" but the real answer is that I don't plan to quit or leave permanently, since there's no additional fee to keep playing the GW accounts I already own, but I'm already playing other games more often and considering not buying GW Chapter3.

Staying till they shut the servers down and lock out my account :P
Seriously this game is never ending so I will always keep my account active, there is no reason to ever chuck it, not like we are being charged for non-use. How much I play will be dictated by the quality of the campaigns. If a campaign sucks I’ll just run a couple of toons though and wait for the next one. If it’s great I’ll be on every spare moment playing my butt off. Interesting to see where the game will be in three years wouldn’t want to not have my account to check it out

I have been playing much less than normal, getting bored. I dont have factions yet, because im saving up for my Son who is coming into this world ~Sept. 24th...so that takes priority.
But playing Prophecies only, for over 13 months is mindnumbing, boring, and very frustrating.
I need to take a break.

I am also considering leaving...but again, I've been doing that for the past half-year and I'm still here

Considering leaving -- my bitterness and disappointment are very strong. Possibly will take a break.

I don't think quitting should be a choice since those people would be pretty lame if they're still around posting here and so forth.
Seriously though I think chapter 3 will be the make or break for the game... well maybe not but it will for me... i'm happy with chapter 1 and 2... just wish more greens would drop for me ;; but that's a personal problem..

How could I not stay? With the rebalance, there's new stuff to figure out!
Beat_Go_Stick
I'm have a feeling I'm quite done. I highly doubt anything they do in C3 could draw me back. My MM is no longer as fun. My monk is no longer as fun. My warrior now requires a whole bunch of re-armoring even though the armor I have was based on a year's worth of game experience. I haven't logged in or even felt the temptation to do so in 2 weeks and that's usually a sign of the end...
I've lost all patience for a game with constantly shifting dynamics and all-too-often nerfs to balance out over-used skills instead of buffs to balance out under-used skills.
ps - I also can't say I'll be sorry to not see this message any more Hopefully my leaving would be doing my part to clean things up a little bit

Oh, and I'm also staying because my cousin recently got the game, so I gotta help him out..

I've considered quitting at times. While I love GW, I've been through plenty of times where I could compare my experience to slamming my forehead against a wall.
just one more
I've definitely quit. Uninstalled and everything. BTW, Guru is notoriously pro-ANet so asking a poll here won't give an accurate portrayal, despite what Inde says.
devils wraths
im staying till the very end of guild wars however long that is its fun for me and always will be.

I vote for "Taking a Break from Guild Wars".
Haven't play GW for weeks now...but still love to read the forum

Considering taking a break too.
Has nothing to do with the update (I dont even play warrior) - Been thinking about a break for awhile.
Gotta take breaks from games like this or they just get stale.

You can have third.

Staying.
I like Guildwars to much, and I appreicate the changes that are made and the different ways we have to battle unlike most people.

I've considered quitting..but I won't, just yet. sorta taking a break. I deleted my Ranger, Mesmer, and necro today..now just my War, monk, and 3 mules.
I originally wasn't going to give anything to anyone, but now Ill prolly give everything to my friend who helped/s me with everything. meh

i voted that i was taking a break. i would consider quitting, but... i've already spent the money so now it is "free". the lack of content is disappointing. the updates are a mixed bag. i will definitely be reading reviews before purchase of chapter 3, kind of sad considering how stoked i was when chapter two was on the horizon.
i'll probably lurk around tho since there is really nothing better out there without a monthly fee, and online games have killed the solo gaming market. final fantasy 12? maybe someday. fallout 3? bethesda bought the rights but decided to give oblivion priority. any arcanum/planescape: torment quality games on the horizon? not by any stretch of the imagination.

PvP keeps me interested. I got kinda bored with the PvE portion a long time ago. Unless something really wierd happens, I want to stick around to get my tiger.
Misc Merik
Im staying becuase I can play iway which is the best build evar
ducktape
I'm staying. I like how I can hench things in the game instead of waiting around for a group. If I have too much work and end up not being able to play for a few weeks or a month it doesn't make me waste money or come back being 20 levels behind everyone I know. I like how I can start up the game and play for an hour or two and get a decent amount of stuff done. I like how I can play it with an old clunkety computer. GW doesn't ask a lot from me and I appreciate it
Kais Unduli
Haven't had any reason to leave, so I'm staying for the long haul. I've stuck with the game longer than any other game I've played previously, and there are still new things for me to do in game.
ArTy
I'm hoping to quit Guild Wars for awhile. It's taking up too much of my time and Anet isn't catering for the PvE crowd enough
Perhaps when Nightfall comes I will come back.

well, i'm packing it in and leaving the game, so selling the last of what i have left right here on guru. nothing too spectacular, but check it out here if you want, might find something for you.
Cirian
I'm taking a break.
I've deleted all my characters and equipment to stop myself "accidentally" logging in (ooh, you know you're addicted when that happens...), including my 1 year old necromancer Tyrian Grandmaster Cartographer with 15k Kurzick and 2.1 mill exp... RIP It was fun until I got bored grinding for the same skills on various characters (that really needs sorting out with some sort of skill sharing system for Ascended L20's like PvP have), but I'm looking forward to something fresh in Nightfall.
In the mean time I want to catch up on some other games and stuff I've been neglecting... currently playing F.E.A.R. and watching Alias on DVD, then I have some other old games I never got around to playing. Hopefully by the time Nightfall comes out Guild Wars will feel fresh again
I'm also looking at Hellgate:London because I love Unreal Tournament and Diablo and this seems to merge the two together in one game
I'll give the Nightfall preview a go anyway.

some people need to pvp ..
Alfrond
I don't see myself quitting any time soon. I'm still really enjoying Faction's PvE content, I plan to get some 15k armors, and PvP is allways fun. We have plenty of things to do in Guild Wars, and if you give everything a shot you should be able to find something to keep you busy until NightFall.
The milk shake
already took a break, got tired of nublets with 1 mil from ebay in 15k or FoW armor going, wtf is fame?, or how do i get 15 attribute points? when obviously if they earned their money they would know.
