Hey all,
I've been doing several farming trips with my guild and we haven't seen anything of real value. Even tough we were at FoW. Ever since I started playing Guildwars (14 months ago) I have yet to see any 15^50 sword/axe/bow show up. My question is : Is there any way to get more lucky ? I mean, do chest runs have more chance to drop a 15^50 weapon ? Or is it just pure luck ?

Well I have done some chest runs in FoW and I got a +15%/Stance Chaos Axe once, req. 10 and sold for 60k or so 
so I think if you wanna look somewhere then do some chest runs in FoW.

hmm ok, FoW chest runs it is then... Is that still doable with the sort of nerf ?

I've gotten 15^50 req 8 axes from the hydras outside of Augury Rock. I think it's just random.

I think he may be aluding to the "nerf" where the chests in FoW don't show up as Gold very often. The last time I went was a month ago or so, and after 8 grape chests in a row, we kinda gave up.

Chest runs in Raisu Palace (explorable) have gotten me some nice 15^50s or 15 always -10 armor attacking weapons.

I'm starting to think there is a limited number of gold chests per hour and the rest are purple. Divide the golds among all the chests that are spawned for each farming run and you have a lower chance for one.
I'm not real sure if this is across the whole map of both continents, or if it is only one continent, or maybe just one zone.
I will add that on a faction farming run, I had gold chests on about every other run for about 5-6 golds total, then there were only purple for the rest of the runs. Maybe this is the anti-farming code.

make sure you're doing raisu palace (exploreable) if you're not doing exploreable drops suck

And I did the Raisu quest and got 6 golds in a row. Nothing special, but all gold.

I don't have any proof what so ever of this, but I find that if I play very late at night (when there are less people likely to be playing in in my region), I get better drops than if I play during the day/evening.
Yesterday for example - I had one gold drop during about five hours of game play during the day/evening, but when I logged on at 1am I got four gold drops in 45 minutes.
Yes, this one day could easily be explained by the pure randomness of drops, but I have seen this pattern so many times that I am sure there is something in it.

You could try a £50 note tucked above your ear and walk into a brothel!
But that will not help you out in GW. If there was an easy answer to it then everyone would be doing it and then it would get changed again so being random is the only thing I can say, is fair for all!

its completely random, there is no secert trick to improve the chance of a
decent drop
you can slightly increase the chance of getting a 15^50 drop by opening more chests and killing more mobs
when i was doing my chest running title i opened 1200 chests and maybe 5 out of the whole lot were 15^50..

I saw someone get a perfect 15^50 low req chaos axe with perfect mod on it a couple of days ago from a FoW chest.
