My GF and I recently got the game and have been playing for a while. We each have one slot left for PvE and were wondering what you guys think a good two-person team would be to take through the game. We have both Prophecies and Factions and were wondering what ideas you guys had for making a strong and effective two-man team.
Also include secondary professions and 'type' of character (i.e. pyro, geo, or hydro, not just 'ele')
Any suggestions would be appreciated ^_^
What's a good duo combination for my GF and me?
Seraphic Divinity
razorbladesmiles
lol soz but I can't help it....
top and bottom
sub and dom...
Ok I am a perv, slap me but I may like it....
Failing that my other half was a monk/necro also had ranger/monk and i was a w/m... we did ok farmed some good places, but then sadly 'sob' I lost them to WoW
I think a W/? and an E/ something would be good, as long as one had monk maybe... don't know but have fun playing and let us know what you pick.

Best duo:
W/E + Mo/Me
You take some interrupts and attacks and can use the earth skills for wheter more armor or more damage.
She takes some healing and protecting skills and some energy regens.
The point is that this way you kill fast and she heals or you take only few damage and she can take some damage skills too.
W/N + Mo/Rt
You take some attacks and interrupts and blood ritual to give her more energy.
She takes some healing and protective spirits.
You kill and she heals and you give her energy regen when needed.

AW Lore
one of you go monk/necro, the other go necro/mesmer.
this way both of you have proffessions that help each other, the necro gets Blood ritual on the monk(though i preffer using BiP), the monk provides healing to the necro when he uses sac spells to keep minions alive or when he uses BR, as well as use BR on the necro from time to time (my monk uses BiP
).
also, you can use this duo to farm places like UW and other common places.

With the use of henchies you can play whatever you want to play, don't limit yourself to any particular combos.
My son and I enjoyed the warrior/monk and monk/whatever combo.
Better yet, join a guild and have full teams for the tough missions or farming.

My wife and I started rangers together and it worked out great. I was a Ran/nec and she Ran/Mo. Did most with henchies or non cookie cutter pugs and we are still having a blast with our new elite Barrage. (B/P builds) rock.
We just started a new two-some her a ele and I a necro no secondary yet but the goal is to have fun with whatever you like the most. So I would say; you do what you like and let her do what she likes and add a few nice people to your friends list to help on the missions that are very hard to do with henchies.

W/E and Mo/Me definitely seems to be the simplest of duos. Almost every party will need a tank and a healer, so why not?
Of course, you could substitute the sub-classes with anything you please.
In fact, it doesn't matter which classes you play at all, it's all about learning your class and having fun with it as you go along.

I'd say it makes sense for one of you to go support (healer/boonprot Monk/restoration Rit) and the other more offensive (anything really - Ele nuker/Warrior tank/barrage Ranger/SS Nec/MM nec/domination Mes - the list is endless).
However my partner and I have recently been having fun going through the Factions storyline with a pair of necros; me as a N/Mo Minion Master, and him as a N/Me Spiteful Spirit nuker. We don't have much problem getting into mission groups together, and have had much success so far.
If grouping together is important to you though, you might have problems with for example: an A/Mo and a Mo/Me - everyone wants a Monk, but right now there is not much love for Assassins.
Overall though, I'd say go with whatever you have most fun playing!

It all depends. Are you trying to avoid henchies? If you are then i would say one of you should probably be healing and the other doing heavy damage. However you want to go about that depends on your style of play.
