Now that the ladder is locked again, congratulations to the guilds that got out there, played their hearts out, and secured a spot in the top 100! You'll have lots of Observer Mode matches to be proud of until the ladder unlocks again!

Well done and GG!

I saw a whole team of touchers gotten their asses kicked in less than 5 minutes. That was fun

Why is it locked again?

It wasn't hardto get top 100...I'll Congrat the top...20 maybe. Thats when it got hard.

REASONING:
So few guilds were Gvging this weekend...ONE WIN brought you from N/A Rank, to top 400...Next win took you into the top 200...(This is how it was with our guild, and we didn't Gvg til the last day of the event...)

It really only starting getting tight when you hit the top 50 or so, the ones farming for rank.

Stingy with the congrats eh?

I'll congratulate them all. It's hard enough to get a team together of 8 people that won't quit after a tough loss. I'm saving my biggest pat on the back for the people in iQ, my favorite american guild! You deserve that 6th slot more than anyone.

Eight replies? How sad....

I'd like to congratulate iQ and all the other guilds who put their lives on hold this weekend to get as many matches in as they could. While there can be only one #1 ranked guild for this Open Event, there were a lot of guilds who set their own goals, such as making the top 100 in a frenzied weekend against a lot of powerful builds. These people are to be congratulated as well for their high level of play over the weekend. It was the most brutal weekend of GvGs I've experienced.

I also wanted to mention that, during the weekend, the sportsmanship was exceptionally good. In one match, we had a glitched player, and received a mercy kill from our opponent. In several others, we had a number of very pleasant PMs after the match, filled with ggs and good lucks and other very positive comments. In only one case (you know who you are), a top 10 guild PMd us after we took them 36 minutes deep before we lost, saying 'Thanks a lot for wasting our time, running around like little girls. We're rank farming here.' To that guild I say, 'What, we should lay down to you? You would have been better served resigning and moving on to your next match.'

As a result of the short season, you're going to see a bunch of new top 100 guilds in Observer Mode. Some people may say that they don't deserve to be there, that they made it only due to the short season and the fact that some of the people who already made the GWFC were not playing much. My opinion is that you're seeing some of the next generation of powerful guilds, and they are worth watching.

Good luck to iQ in Germany! You guys played great, and there are many of us pulling for you!

top5 guilds unable to play, smite and other gimmick everywhere, omg, yeah it was soooo fun.

(well at least, more fun than playing vs full paladin and henchies ...)

So now with observer mode we will all be able to watch guilds which run their gimmick correctly, enjoy enjoy enjoy

Making top 100 in a three day season after a ladder reset is not really particularly challenging, even with the decent guilds grinding. I have seen a number of the new top 100 guilds talking smack about lower ranked guilds, and bragging about their own rank. It really is pathetic. However, to those that don't; congrats and enjoy it.

Lets just hope that the Ladder isn't locked for the next 2 months. GvG unrated is just boring. There is nothing to achieve so people tend to play at a lower level. As well as watching in observer mode, a lot of people won't pay much attention to the new guilds that broke the top 100 since they don't recognize their names.

Not to mention it gives IQ a little bit of an advantage going in the WC. The other top 5 teams are all unranked now, meaning they will face a weaker playing field as they try to practice. Where as IQ is currently #1 and should face top 20 guilds regulary when they decide to practice.

So congrats to you current top 100 guilds, lets just hope you don't stay there for the next 2 months.

Meh, we made top 100. I had a blast and it was nice to have that many guildies motivated to do an extra effort. I didn't feel as though the competition was much worse then during normal seasons. Especially because there was a much bigger chance to be paired up against top 20 guilds.
Then again, what do I know. Our goal now is to get a similar result in a 'real' season, since really, it does feel a bit cheap to get into top 100 in a three day season.

Quite fun to be able to analyze your losses in obs mode though.

Hey Yogi; I see your point about the level of opponents for the other 5 teams but I think they made an effort to not be in the top 100 just so people don't get to watch their every move in obs mode for a change.
Should make for some interesting surprises in the championships. *crosses fingers*

Apollo why is the ladder you guys have on your forums so much better than the one GW puts up? You guys know you are making them look bad right

Congrats to iQ and best of luck in Germany.

I thought the weekend was fun despite throwing all normal sleeping habits out the window.

I'm hoping the ladder doesn't stay locked too long and guilds will go back outside the dual smite/hex heavy/NR Tranq builds.

waste of life IMO to basically play a game 24/7 for 3 days so they can be recognized online. Just my opinion but yea. If you saw a guild called We are all pretty [Ugly] yea i was surpirsed we got to 91 but i never played. other guildies did. Since then we made a new guild and since the ladder is locked we tried 55ing in GvG. We ended up with the #8 guild going against us. Very amusing
