Eight replies? How sad....
I'd like to congratulate iQ and all the other guilds who put their lives on hold this weekend to get as many matches in as they could. While there can be only one #1 ranked guild for this Open Event, there were a lot of guilds who set their own goals, such as making the top 100 in a frenzied weekend against a lot of powerful builds. These people are to be congratulated as well for their high level of play over the weekend. It was the most brutal weekend of GvGs I've experienced.
I also wanted to mention that, during the weekend, the sportsmanship was exceptionally good. In one match, we had a glitched player, and received a mercy kill from our opponent. In several others, we had a number of very pleasant PMs after the match, filled with ggs and good lucks and other very positive comments. In only one case (you know who you are), a top 10 guild PMd us after we took them 36 minutes deep before we lost, saying 'Thanks a lot for wasting our time, running around like little girls. We're rank farming here.' To that guild I say, 'What, we should lay down to you? You would have been better served resigning and moving on to your next match.'
As a result of the short season, you're going to see a bunch of new top 100 guilds in Observer Mode. Some people may say that they don't deserve to be there, that they made it only due to the short season and the fact that some of the people who already made the GWFC were not playing much. My opinion is that you're seeing some of the next generation of powerful guilds, and they are worth watching.
Good luck to iQ in Germany! You guys played great, and there are many of us pulling for you!
