All I can say is wow... awesome (not the other wow).
The thrill of hunting for items, the fun of building up your character the way you want, finding the awesome elite skills, exploring beautifully designed areas (such as the forest around aspendale and the like), the thrill of the victory in PvP when your build works, the nail biting groups that were so close to dying by you scraped through with teamwork.
Really, considering all things about the game, it's flawless, particularly by market comparison (of which there is none of it's class). It really sets the standard for non-subscription based online role players, I feel.
What else do you LOVE about the game?
(too much hating lately).
Guild Wars - Love it!

Pre-searing was awesome yes, the visuals there are incredable, same with Shing Jae area also though, if not more! (lots of hills etc...), so pretty and wonderful.
I also love how the variety of weapons is so VAST! I'm heavily into the community etc (though relatively silent), and I still see new things I haven't seen before every time I play it. Full kudos for that.
The way I see it, with the coming add-on's, it can only really get better and deeper. Can't wait for them, but I'm not sick of the first two chapters yet.

Nothing beats the feeling when a random group really pulls together and gets through against the odds - bonus points when everyone decides to just go right on to the next thing together. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I remember teaming up with an awesome fun group with my second character and we ended up going right through Kryta together. It was a blast.

Someone needs to tell anet its ok to buff and take a break from nerfing long enough to at least wipe the blood off the bat. |

I loved the original Guild Wars - the content, the storyline, exploring with my primary character in pre-Searing... I remember going out of the way of quests just to see what was around the bend... those were the days.
If I complain now, it is only because I still love Guild Wars and hate to see it performing more poorly than it could be. No specifics, enough threads on them already.

I like the variety of the whole thing. The versatility of each profession keeps the game-play fresh. The PvE areas are fantastic (for the most part) & when they called Tyria a "Continent" they meant it! Some of the missions are really fun, such as the Ft. Ranik Mission (Damn Charr Snuck up on me...!) & the Iron Mines (for the variety of enemies you face). I've just started getting into PvP & AB's are a blast!
The Holiday events have been pretty good - Loved "Mad King Says" and the Snowball fights!

The thing that got me with GW was the graphics, though. It took me five jaw-dropping minutes in pre-searing, and I was hooked. I proceeded to showcase pre-searing to two of my friends, and within days they'd bought GW too. (ANet, it's not too late to release an open 10-hour demo of GW: Prophecies! You WILL draw in new customers, the graphics are still impressive, even after a year & the release of Oblivion.)
Also I've been impressed to heck and back by ANet support. I've followed the neverending moan-fests here on GWGuru since just after release, and also reported a couple of bugs & bots, and ANet have always reacted very fast. I've never seen a company as on the ball as ANet (although just before the release of factions and some time after it was obvious their resources were stretched to breaking point).
Stability and netcode. I'm used to those being the weakest points in any given PC game. I'm EXPECTING games to crash now and then, and the netcode to be borderline dysfunctional - but both have been 100% since the day of release. I used to think Steam was the top-end of content delivery, with xbox live a distant second, but whatever ANet call their content delivery engine (anyone know?), it's better.
It's the art direction for me.
From giant murals in the ruins of Ascalon, to the truly unique inhabitants of the world (Tengu, Skales, Grawl, etc), GW is an artistic tour de force.
And even though the waves are a little ropey, I've never seen ANYTHING like the Jade Sea in a game before.
Truly breathtaking flights of fantasy, especially when compared to the rather generic worlds of Everquest, DDO & WoW.
