sentinal armour?
Mesmer in Need
When i was makeing my pvp warrior, i saw this armour as an option, but it wasnt highlighted so i couldent use it. I know it has AL 100 but it has -20hp if you dont have strength 13. Where do i get this? Fow?
Former Ruling
Its -20AL, not hp, if you don't have 13 str.
Its Faction Only armor, you have to buy factions to use it.

Just to finish up this debate...Sentinals isn't very good or very popular. It has the best base armor in the game sure...but noone runs 13 str. And if you don't have 13str - the armor is useless (like I said, it losses 20 AL, not 20 hp..making it base 80 armor with no mods, making it the worst warrior armor if you dont have 13 str)

I have a hammer warrior with sentinals. She wore it from start to finish and is now making her way through chapter 1. I also have a sword/axe warrior that uses this armor for farming and running.

If you use 13 strength, is it the best armour? Just out of interest, say for a second set.

I wouldn't say there is a "best" armor.
I select my armor based on my planned build for the character. My hammer's build is based mainly on strength skills, therefore my strength attribute is at 16. Hence I will always meet the req. My other warrior requires more energy therefore she wears glads. But when she's dedicated to running all points are put into tactics and strength so I feel sentinals is better there.
Dragon's - +10AL from basic
Glads - +7 energy
Knights - Received physical damage -3
Beserker's - +35 health
Legionnaire's - +10 AL in stance
Sentinals - +20 AL from Basic with 13+ strength

I use sentinels for running and hammer build, both of which I have high strength to play.
Normally for hammer I keep my att's in my primary profession and run with grenth's balance or a non attribute secondary profession skill.
I would think it'd have to be. I mean if you were to go with a couple of toons with varying proffessions to Isle of the nameless and hit on the 80 target dummy then hit on the 100 AL target dummy the reduction in damage is the benifet you'll get from sentinels.

Sentinals - +20 AL (vs elements) from Basic with 13+ strength
would be more accurate, since the +Physical bonus is reduced by the same amount (ie. basic 80+20 physical; Dragons 90+10 physical). Neither of the sets is any more effective against Physical damage than the Basic armour set.

After the new update I'll have to trash my old Knight boots and replace them with sentinel's
I think sentinel's is the best armor if you have 13 Strength which I always have while running. Good luck getting your armor

Its takes so much abuse its not even funny.
Now that most people have at least 2 sets of armor then I would say have one sentinel and one gladiator.

I've done a comparison of the armors before in a few threads, but here it is again...
ALL Warrior armor provides a base 100 AL versus physical and 80AL versus elemental. So, if you focus on the differences after that...
Chainmail - no bonus
Dragon/Plate - +10AL vs Elemental
Sentinels - +20AL vs Elemental (but need 13 strength)
Legionnaire - +10AL vs Elemental, +10AL vs Physical (only in a stance)
Knights - -3 Damage Reduction vs Physical
Berserker - +35 Health
Gladiator - +7 Energy
A quick analysis:
If you're farming trolls/other physicals, Knights seems the way to go.
If you're a strength-based tank, Sentinel is the way to go.
If you're a tactics-based tank/runner, Legionnaire is the way to go.
If you want PvP armor, either Gladiator's or Berserker (for spike protection) is the way to go.
If you want generic armor that's pretty good for all occassions, Dragon/Plate is the way to go.
With the update, I would say that all armor types now have their benefits. If you're too lazy (or don't have the inventory space/cash) to switch armors, Dragon/Plate is the best overall choice.
