Question on Ranger... no one bothered asking
Dyon Adell
Why doesn't our arrows finish? It's like we got an infinite quiver or something.

SHHHHHHHH
are u asking for a nurf?
i dont want to have to buy/craft arrows after every battle........

Arkantos
It wouldmake the game un balanced. Rangers would be the only class that needs to buy there weapons over and over.
xenex
Not really. It could be like RuneScape (lol) and elementalists have to buy runes, necromancers can collect bones or something, etc. But that's retarded.
MercenaryKnight
I like the improvement. In diablo2 amazons or anybody using bows had to buy arrows. Definitely not fun.

i dont want to have to buy/craft arrows after every battle........ Yeah well I was expecting that. Kinda in a flame-me mood today. Well it would be fun... if arrows are sold at say 10g for 500. Maybe Warriors need to spend on repairing their weapons, elementalists on runes as mentioned, Necromancers need skulls, Mesmers need make-up, and Monks need Holy Water or something.
Some form of gold spent long-term for maintenance. GW is pretty realistic from certain aspects. And this could add more to realism.

That would suck so RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing hard.. >_> In D2 the gold is worth nothing.. So you dont care about it.. And also, would be fun to do TopK as barrager team needing to have the 2 bags full of arrows so you can keep fireing off 6 at a time for like an hour x.x And in D2 you can just TP to town and buy more >_> You can do that in Gw.. So let this thread die before anet nerf more of my chars..

Some form of gold spent long-term for maintenance. GW is pretty realistic from certain aspects. And this could add more to realism. Guild Wars is appealing in that it does not require alot of grind to maintain your character. Rather it gets right to the 'meat and potatoes' of the gameplay. Rather than grinding levels or equipment, you are allowed to enjoy the game freely. Granted, should you decide you want a rare skinned weapon, or that you want to unlock all the skills on one character... then a certain amount of repetative gameplay should be expected. If you are a major contender in the GvG ladder, than again, it requires grinding the ladder. But overall and without question, one of GW's big selling points is being able to spend time doing things more enjoyable than maintainence.

Pick Me
First off, does anyone have the garbage bin that is included in your inventory? I have the backpack, belt, and 2 bags. The last one looks like a garbage bin to me.
As why do I ask that? Because its extra space that you would use if you needed arrows. If everyone needed something, like a skull for each casting of a necro spell, or a rune for each ele spell, or vial of holy water for each monk spell, etc. Then everyone would have lots of materials on their person in order to utilize their skill(s). Do pets need food?
Let's not do the D2 thing, where everything costs money. I mean, I'm sorry, but if someone has trouble getting money, repairing armor, weapons, getting arrows, spears/javelins (for the new class), becomes way too much. Farming becomes more useful, but probably will also become more scarce (drops may become lower, etc). And tournaments, oh man, how long will your supplies last if its a long GvG or Alliance battle?
What would happen if repairs = lower costs of armor, but still needs materials to repair?
An example would be: 15K + 250 tan hides + 250 scales + 10 fur squares. Now, repairs would be 500 g + 5 tan hides + 5 scales + 1 fur square. Repairs are based on the damage on the armor (lets say 10/50 - 10 is health left on armor, out of 50 max).
This can become very expensive. Obviously the armor costs I made up (just like repair costs), but you get the idea.
Lets keep supplies as they are, no arrows needed, not material spell components, and NO REPAIRS!!!

They would be useless in GVG matches.
Hard to interrupt when you don't have arrows.
Hard to shoot something with spike damage without arrows.
Does the game really need to revolve around having enough arrows to `stay in the game?'
The game is based on skills, use of skills, and character management. Not "sufficient stuff in inventory."
Maria The Princess
imagine in a B/P team someone ran out of arrows...... LOL
Dyon Adell
Sure adds some drama doesn't it? ;p
Dyon Adell
Oops sorry for double post.

Drama ... "Hi, erhm, could I borrow a quiver of arrows from you?"

Imagine trying to repair the fow armor you saved up months to get with ecto's and shards....ouch...

Melandru in her ultimate wisdom gifted the Ranger Profession and Secondary Profesion a unique ability. The magic of the armor that provide Rangers Energy is an endless gift from her. This magical armor allows us to draw infinite arrows from our armor to do justice for Melandru while she is in the rift. This is why Rangers Dont need quivers, or Arrows.

He would have to use the Ogre-Slaying Knife he found the run before...
However with the 8 secs skills disabled when your pet dies (and the dp thingy), they can no longer shoot that many arrows anyway

like every class can buy this upgrade (quiver for rangers) to increase a skill for that class.

Dyon Adell
Yeah there're no quivers actually. Rangers just magically draw arrows from their back. ArenaNet should at least add a quiver graphic, even if they intend to remain the infinite amount of arrows.
Also, I noticed bows don't have strings. =.=
Lastly, even the men don't have pubic hair! The warriors underarms are dark but shaved!! Totally disgusting!!!!

Yes let's get a quiver. Also while we add the quiver into the game, why not add a sheath for the sword? A strap for the hammer?
While we add these new animated graphics into the game let's re-animate the cape, so it reacts to the shape of these new feature, and also, let's edit the capes movement to not glitch through them!
Honestly. It is too hard to do. You've all seen how they have 'forced' the cape out from the neck and bent it at a 90° angle when we sit...
