Fastest way to lvl 20
Markrids
I've got a few characters which im playing with the intention of starting them in Factions then moving them to Prophecies. The chars will be roughly lvl 10-12 when they leave for Tryia. What is the fastest way I can take my chars to lvl 20. I had three options I was thinking about;
1) Powerlvl with trolls etc
2) Ascend in the desert
3) Try and do Factions fed-ex style quests
4) If anyone knows anythig else please say.
Any help?

if you started in factions and do all the quests you should be at lvl18 when you are able to go to tyria.
Just doing factions quests will probably be the quickest way to lvl20 due to the 3000XP quests

Ascending doesn't make you lvl 20 anymore

Ascension never magically made you level 20 anyway... It just gave you 50,000 experience points, which generally was enough to push players to that breakpoint.
But if you'd like to prove that they removed the 50,000 experience reward, please go right ahead...
~EDIT~ Hokay, overlooked the oooooooooooold days system, which you may be refferring to. If so, my mistake, and disregard.

If your goal is to get to level 20, I advise staying in Cantha until you hit it. You level up much faster there. I made a new Ranger in Cantha and made it to level 20 without doing a single Mission on the mainland. I did do plenty of quests which give you 1000 or more XP. In Tyria, your typical quest only gives you 250-500 xp.

I have a new Tyrian ranger. I made it to Lion's Arch at lvl14 and took a boat ride to Cantha. I got from lvl 14 to lvl 18 in THREE hours, and I was taking my time henching the 3K exp. quests. It took me about 30-ish hours getting her up to lvl14 in Tyria- there's no way the leveling in Cantha can be beat.
The trade-off is a lot of Tyrian skills are given as quest rewards while in Cantha you have to buy almost all of them.
Edit- I know 30 hours is a lot of time to get to lvl14, but I like to complete everything and leave no witnesses before I move on.

As to the "best" way to level up ........ play the game!

My ritualist was level 20 when she left Shing Jea - if you complete all of the quests before you leave, you shouldn't have this problem.

When I leveled up my assassin, I got to level 20 in 8 hours (spread over 3 days). I did all the SJ Island quest, and then did 2 quests in Kaineng. And as you might know, assassins are pretty gimp with the starter skills they get, so I was splitting kill xp with henchies / other players.

The fastest way to lvl 20 is through Faction's quests... I took my Tyrian necro over there around lvl 12 and was lvl 16 before I knew it.. The experience rewards are crazy high over there (not that I'm complaining
).

take your factions charecter to prophesies then ascend them at lvl 16 or lvl15.5.. so they are lvl20.. once you reach a higher lvl by ascending at lower lvl the grind to earn xp is harder...

As for getting to lvl 20, just to the quests and missions in factions. That gets you to lvl 20 in no time.

I created a factions ranger this morning. Already at level 16 and about to do the Zen Daijun mission. Like everyone else said, just do all the quests you can find and complete the missions and you'll be at level 20 quickly...
