How to stop AFK Faction Leeching.

/signed for the votekick idea too!!

I'm not entirely convinced that AFK'ers are always AFK in AB......I've had a number of occasions where we've obviously had a leech (permanently standing at the res shrine in the base, not responding to any messages), and if we've started leaving in protest we suddenly find the leech back at the outpost looking for new teams. Considering how long AB's go on, it wouldn't surprise me if leeches just sit at their computers watching everything that's happening. The problem is that if any "type this code to continue/solve this puzzle" intervention was introduced, it may be ineffective as the leech would see it and type/solve it.
I hate leeches in AB (and PvE). I think the only way to solve it properly is to have invigilators on either side monitoring the players (e.g. an ANet staff sits in the base and watches over the res shrine to spot any AFK'ers). These invigilators would not be involved in fighting or defending (i.e. can't be targets of attacks/spells). Alas I can't see this being implemented.

Environmental Effect: Spirit of Exhortation. If you do not move, attack, or use a skill for 1 minute, you lose 1000 faction.
Hell Raiser
Well, all someone would have to do is set up a bot to use some skill every [Whatever the recharge is]. Or move forward after 10sec, and back after 10, forward, back etc.
Treg Q
Or then after fight there is NPCs who give faction rewards to winners. Balthazar faction "range" should be smaller than whole map so leechers dont get it.
Feyd Vdak
I agree with Treg Q and Creelie. The idea of having something take away faction as a penalty for leeching would discourage it and defeat the purpose of leeching. I also think that a shorter "range" would be effective, so long as there is an increase in the amount of faction gained. That way I get more faction for killing/capping/etc not just being around when something like that happens. I don't believe I deserve getting faction for an enemy's death I wasn't responsible for (or any action that merits that faction).
bloody streak
how about if ur with a party of real ppl (not hench) and ur afk for 10 mins ur account is banned for a day

also what you could do is make the random 'puzzel' appear at a random point in the match, meaning you would have to be at your pc all the way through to enter the code/puzzel. |

Anet should just make a better or even faster way of earning faction points. My assasin is stuck there because no one plays that alliance battle (faction). My assasin cant continue forward cause i have to get 10k factions first.

I like the idea. How about some sort of rule gets implemented such as: A player has to have moved out of the area of their base and teleport destinations by X amount of yards every 2 minutes otherwise they don't obtain faction. In other words, a players can't just stand in their base and using the teleport over and again wouldn't do much either because they would had to have moved away from the place where they teleport to. The two minute rule would also make going AFK pointless

The problem I see with just going off character movement is that there are already bots that simply follow the closest player around. My fiance and I have had this issue first hand playing Kurzick side of Aspenwood while working on our befriending quest. The was a rit, didn't even have a weapon that just followed my fiance around the entire game. She'd home right in on him every time he got rezed. Very annoying.
Someone has already stated that they have software that can track pretty much everything you do in the game. Taking this into cosideration, my fiance and I came up with our own suggest. I was half asleep so I don't remember everything so bear with me.
Anyway, the idea we had was to flag accounts for each leeching/leaving offence. (Imo leaving is just as bad as leeching because you're still screwing your team over.) After a certain number of flags, you simply can't enter into the arena anymore until you get them removed. This would lock out the leechers temporarily, and it would be account wide. So they couldn't just switch characters, or delete the character and remake (pvp) in order to get back in. Still working on the 'how' they would go about unlocking their account, so if anyone has a constructive idea, feel free to add.
Yes, I know sometimes someone has to leave in the middle due to outside reasons. This would still flag there account, but it would be removable. Make it so that they had to complete like 2 games or something to remove the flag. When I say complete, I don't mean leach two games either. The keylogger can tell whether or not your actually playing. Leeching it would be counter productive as it would simply add more flags rather than take them away.
Just a thought. Feel free to add constructive criticism.

One idea I remember seeing a while back was a type of random-team ignore list. You add a name to your list, and the game will never put you on a randomly-selected team with that account. If enough people thought a leech was an issue, that leech would find themselves waiting at the outpost for a LONG time because any team with someone ignoring them would not allow them in.
Every so often, someone from ArenaNet could look at the roster of "most ignored by players" to see who NOBODY wants on their team, as a starting point for finding and dealing with the leeches that plague FA (and, if they decided to do this, it would also be able to hit leeches in RA/TA as well.)
Maybe make it so that the account is only ignored for a period of time? 2 weeks, then you have to add them to the ignore list again. That way, someone who blames you for a loss in RA doesn't count against you forever, unless they keep ignoring you from there on out.

Leavers:
Each time you leave a PvP battle during fight, you gain a point, when you get 10 points, you can not enter PvP. The special about this is that after each 2 hours of gameplaying you lost one point so if you leave because you must then it's not often, you will be not affected by this, but those who are leaving too often can be prevented from entering a pvp battle until their points are lower than 10. This way leavers will be "punished". Leavers can be replaced by hench of same attr/build or like I have suggested here in reinforcement option with real players, but that will of course not happen , because ANet don't want to make any changes to the game.
Leecher bot protection:
Instead of writing your name for faction transfer, you need to write a random generated noisy character code like on webpage confirmation forms. Still this way they can leech 10K faction.
Non bot leecher protection:
Other sollution, like I have already suggested in this thread with combination of 10 points system.

How about if your keyboard has no keystrokes made in lets say... 5 minuets then you get no faction, you are booted from the game and a re-enforcement player takes your place?
