simple idea for new search method

Ok as many knows, it isn't allways that the searhing helps or the search is unavaiable, so i just thought of another method to search, what if gwguru had an alphabethic register for the different threads, in the same way as on the memberlist like, you go to the thread list, then search on F and then you see all the F-threads like future of armor...

so, what do you say, it'a just a simple idea, but i dunno how hard it is to make..

Now that Guru is spread across multiple servers, the Search function should always be available. The "not helpful" part I can understand, but only to a degree. Being familiar with the vBulletin system, I don't know of any mods (normally referred to as 'hacks') for the software that would allow that method of listing. One could probably be made, but it would take some thought and may not be as efficient as you think.

My suggestion for people having problems with the Search: try to use descriptive keywords. Short, simple words/terms won't give you great results. For example, instead of searching for "W/MO farming" search for "W/Mo <enemy here> Farming Build". Using more desciptive phrases and keywords makes the Search a lot more accurate.

I don't think this is a viable option for a couple of reasons. My first challenge to you is to try and go to the Member List up top. We have over 80k users on this site. Trying sorting through to find one of them. Now imagine the 200,000 threads that have been created in alphabetical order on the site... add to the fact that most people don't label their threads with a detailed subject title. You'd probably end up with 1,000 thread titles that are simply "Question?" or "My 2 cents".
