How do you make money?

I dont understand how people make so much money! i cant figure it out i have played for about 3 months and i have 20k but how do people make so much money? can someone help me out

People farm solo mostly, people can farm UW solo,Farm troll's solo,ettin's for rune's,green item farming at DWC(A drago's flatbow can make you 30-40k) and to keep farming lol.
The Pointless
Most tend to farm certain areas with a powerful build (Build = setup of skills, items - including armour - and attributes). They use these builds in areas nearer the end of the campaign or Fissure of Woe/The Underworld, which is accessible from Temple of the Ages in Tyria or Zin Ku Corridor in Cantha.

Kneel in front of Balthazar's statue for FoW or Grenth for UW. Then speak to the representative that appears. It costs 1 plat for entry.

Try something easy for quick cash like troll farming and minotaur farming, but be careful and not trigger the farming code ^^. These runs only take a couple of minutes for each and you can get at least 10k an hour.

I do do Tombs, brings keys for the chests. I just got dropped a gold perfect fellblade req 9 while doing Hells Precipice in a darkstone chest. That should net around 150K or more depending on the bidding. If you have factions there are several towns where people are looking for people for 4man or 5man farming teams to hunt green weapons. Those sell for anywhere from 10 or 20K to 60K or more for those. Lots of different ways. Gathering materials and when a new version comes out make money selling off materials for the new armors.

All that is good if you are looking for the big money. I find that I can make at least 6k a day (4 or 5 hours) simply by selling most items that drop. And this tends to be with around 5 henchies. I tend to run through the areas in factions, like the southern Kurzick area, and the Wajiun Bazaar. Just doing whatever quests.
This wont make anyone big money, but I tend to have enough to easily outfit my characters with 1.5k armor.
Also, running my level 20 warrior solo through the charr around Piken gets me on average 1 dye an hour. In the past 3 weeks, that is about 7 dyes. Two were black.
These are just my findings. Might be totally different for other people.

agreed with above comment - i make about 4k a day if i want which is plenty for my char, some days I make fa which relates to my mood, the place my char is in etc...
Running low lev towns can get you some nice materials and some dyes... (dyes best to go pre-sear i got 2 blue, 1 yellow, 1 orange and 1 silver in pre in about 2 hours) as stated above - just my findings - but i do get a feel when a black is going to drop...

the truly rich in this game do not quest for money nor do they sell items to the merchant or run or farm for 4-5 hours for 5-6k. The truly rich buy low sell high. Fast way to become a millionare in this game. My 2 cents.....

My first week I did the same mission over and over again. Doing The Wilds mission, gave me at least 500G each time. It was a bit slow, but enough to get me Droks armour in about 2 days. People like healers, no matter how you screw up

You also could try Ettin farming(rune farming) there's a nice list of varying builds in the Warrior farming directory.

prob best way to earn quick money is to run 55hp monk and fram trolls oooutside droks ( in cave to left 1 run takes me 3 mins and i do about 1 k per run i dont bother with bosses cause time/drops ratio is crap occasionally u will get a nice gold drop also always have key handy for the chest that pops up ev now and then prob 1 in 5 chests that appear in cave are gold and prob 1 in 3 of those have a nice mod on it that can be sold on last night in 2 hours i did ova 100k just on trolls once u get used to this u can be abit more creative and farm diff areas that aint farmed very often but usually time/gold it aint worth it

I sell almost nothing to other players. If you really need money, find the hardest place that you can solo go there. If you think about it, when you bring even 1 henchie it cuts your profits in half. If you bring 4 it is only slighty worse than that (you get 1/5 of the profits). So...the best way to make money, is to go places alone (or very high end places as a group, but then you are hoping for the "big" payout from an ultra rare *something*)
Don't follow this advice if you want to be super rich though...I only have about 100k or so, but I buy anything and everything that I want (My idea of gaming is not trying to see how much gold I can stockpile. I get enough of that at work...)
