Have to buy Paragon and Dervish Skills??
Saix The Spartan
With the PvP Thingy with he 2 new classes coming out in 2 weeks, i get the inpression we'll have to buy there skills with Balth, Instead of having all of them unlocked, or how ever there going to do it. This weekend we get double Balth points right?? Just something i think, whether it's stupid or not.

The beta weekend will most probably be similar to the factions weekend, therefore, we will have to unlock any skills we need with balth faction. Several sample builds should be provided so we can try the classes without spending any faction. I agree with you, having double balth factions this weekend is pointless, it would be much more useful next weekend when we really need it.

I think the idea is to unlock as many current skills and possible and then max out the Faction to 10,000. That will at least give access to a couple of mods and one elite or so.
Better then nothing. No point in complaing about it, least A.net is giving us the option to try the new classes so soon.
Also its a "preview" weekend, so many skills will be subject to change.

Would be nice if we could unlock skills during comeing weekend with dubble faction and all. But I highly doubt it.
Best thing is just to make sure you have 10,000 maxed out by sunday night.

10000, what's that equal to like 10 normal skills or 3 elites and 1 normal skill? That's not even counting weapons upgrades and runes. I hope they keep the double balthazar faction during the PvP event. How can we test the skills if we spend all our time earning faction to unlock them?

I reccomend you take a look at the prebuild when it comes and come up with a counter build
Then just gank all the newbie Dervishes and Paragons and rake in some quick faction to unlock the skills and mods for you to try out.
<.< Thats what i did to all the prebuilt assassins...
Cybah
wanna get 'em due to quests

let an IWAY warrior do the welcome rites for the newbie Dervishes and Paragons...
IWAY Warrior: "Welcome to the jungle, noob"
Dervish: "OMG We're Doomed!"
Paragon: "Yea /Shiver"

Didn't mean you were complaining, just saying there was no point in complaining.
My best bet is A.net is doing this so it stops people earning tons of faction points and power unlocking all the skills too quickly.

They should unlock all the skils, runes, and mods for the beta. How are we suppose to test it if we can't use it.
Not everyone will unlock the same skills. Some skills might not even see play at all during the event. If you are going to test something we need access to all the skills.

I'll probably do the same for the Dervish and Paragon.

As stated, 10k lets you try any one build. Premades give you 4 more builds you can modify with a few thousand more faction. If you are actually pvping, you should get enough faction to do most anything reasonably interesting.
Anet would be better off with people committing to skills and collecting mass data, than people trying out hundreds of different combinations for a short period.

I just hope there are cool animations like rolling/flipping assassins on the dervish. Why did they take those anims out anyway? i liked them
WhiteZombie
watch everyone and their dog go as dervish and unlock all the shapeshifting skills first ;P

i never liked spending 1000 gold for each skill... but then the quests at prophecies were too easy and you get at least 2 skills from them. maybe they could add something like earning points from quests and swapping them for skills.
