I believe someone posted a while back that the Factions manual mentions radical/fanatical followers of Melandru. My money is those are the Dervishes

Why would Dervish be Grenth? They're supposed to be scythe-wielding holy warrior.

I wouldn't be suprised if the both went to Dwayna or Balthazar, or perhaps worshipped both like how Assassins worship Grenth, Balthazar, and Lyssa.

I'd think Dervish=Balthazar, Paragon=Dwayna
Paragon isn't offensive enough to be Balthazar IMO

Dervish will probably be an equal split amoung several gods (ala elementalist) dont forget his ability to transform (lysaa), his attacking (balth), his endurance (melandru) etc.
Paragon would be Bath/Dwayna.

Both sound to me like pure Balth. A holy warrior in a fighting frenzy is exactly what Balthazar likes. So is a battle commander. I suppose they could both have a little Dwayna in them.

In order of importance:

Warrior: Balthazar
Monk: Dwayna, Balthazar
Ranger: Melandru
Mesmer: Lyssa
Necromancer: Grenth
Elementalist: Balthazar (Fire) / Grenth (Ice) / Melandru (Earth) / Dwayna (Air) -- All equally worshipped
Assassin: Grenth, Lyssa
Ritualist: Grenth
Paragon: Balthazar, Dwayna
Dervish: Balthazar, Dwayna

At a Grenth shrine you can get assassin atribute points raised??
At a Balthazar shrine you can get Monk atribute points raised??
No didnt think so.

At a Lyssa Shrine can you get Energy Storage atribute points Raised??
Yes.

Monk: Dwayna
Assasin: Lyssa
Elementalist: Balthazar (Fire) / Grenth (Ice) / Melandru (Earth) / Dwayna (Air) / Lyssa (Energy Storage)

I think they are bother going to be one way or the other though. (Or like the elementalist with there atributes split up between all of the gods)

Read the frikken manual/lore before you speak, please.

Smiting Monks worship Balthazar and Assassins worship Grenth also.

For all intensive purpoused, the god the class is paired with is the god that rewards atributes.

thats just game mechanics, that doesnt stop the professions from worshipping them. I'm telling you, read the manual, the lore about GW states that what BigTru says is correct.

Yeah, it's all in the lore. Dwayna isn't much into the whole smiting thing -- that's Balthazar's thing, and Assassins "talk with a Priest of Grenth before accepting any contract." (Paraphrased.)

I didn't know that you could get a boost of Energy Storage from a Lyssa shrine, though. Thanks! Nice to know.

I'd say the Paragon is likely to be Dwayna simply because of the wing elements to their armour. Sounds like a connection to Dwayna to me.

Dervish... I'm going to come out of the left field and say Melandru, largely because Balthazar already has the warrior, and I see alternate fighting styles as coming from an alternate source of inspiration (Balth would want all his warriors to be, well, warriors, while another deity may decide he/she wants a warrior cadre for their own and start teaching their disciples a different way). Most of my reason for picking on Melandru is simply that she's the only one apart from Balthazar that would be left without a second profession, although the dervish does appear, from what little we know, to potentially be closer to nature than the armoured warrior. However, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be any other god, or even all of them like the Elementalist.

Actually somewhat pointless, as it only gives you +3 or so for 150 gold, when you can get +10 energy from one of the other Lyssa options for less. It could help with skills, I suppose, but I don't think any of the ES skills gain enough benefit from improving the attribute to really be worth it compared to the other option.

It may be pointless but it sure is nifty. Just another little piece of game lore to think about.

As i said, GW:N is sick. Devilish under Dwayna and is embodiment of god. What's next, Chapter4, Satanist profession having holy water skills?

Okay, this is getting worse than the rogue/rouge confusion...

It's deRVish, not deVILish. No connection to dark forces whatsoever.

Why do you guys are even arguing about Smiting Monks worshiping Balthazar? They have TWO Smiting skills with his friggin' name on it.

Yeah... we worship Dwayna only but we will name two of our most powerful powers(Wow, that was leet, powerful powers) using Balthazars name 'cause, you know, it's smiting and maybe we are the ones who should be smited and all that.

Paragon obsviously is Balthazar. He reminds me of Ares, greek God of War, if you Google Ares pics you'll see him represented with a Spear and a Shield and i think that the Paragons will be just like that. And that's pretty cool. Maybe they'll worship Dwayna as a secondary minor creed, looking for her aid in protection Shouts.

Lots of ppl think that Dervishes has something to do with Grenth because of the Scythe and our tendence to connect Scythes with Death, it's understandable. I bet that his main God will be Balthazar since he's a melee fighter, i would say that maybe Lyssa has something to do with them either because of the dancing attacks, and Dwayna comes from the protective spells. BUT Melandru is a nice option too, she would represent the fighting, the dance and even the protection and healing.

I'm seeing Paragons as the un-gimped version of smiting monks. So like W/Mo they belong to Balthazar/Dwyana. Except the other way around.

Dervishes are very much Grenth/Balth.

Grenth isn't actually evil. Grenth is more neutral then evil. I mean, most evil people worship Grenth, but then why do Necro characters agree to do good deeds in the campaigns and stuff.

I think he would worship all the gods, but mainly balthazar. But still, they could worship grenth since the death aspect of them and he can actually be said to be "holy"

hold why would paragon be balthazar? they are guardian ANGELS, somehow angel screams Dwayna to me....also they aren't going to be doing alot of bloodsheding they will be supporting their party.. like the preview said the mere presence of them makes the surrounding party members resistant to hexes and stuff.. sounds pretty heavenly and dwayna-like to me.. just my two cents.

ok one thing holy doesnt mean Dwanya. they are all gods so they are all holy. considering that gw gods all sorta resemble a greek god then i believe that grenth and balth are brothers and i think little brother grenthy is going to get sick of his big brothers warriors keep killing his hard taught necros. so whats he do? make his own warriors to deal with the bully warriors.

o and the paragons in my opinion are going to be Dwanya/ Balthazar just like monks.
