how much would a negative energy focus (-5nrg, +4 armour) go for?
are they easy to find or would a monk be willing to give a bit for it?

-5 energy focii drop fairly frequently in Factions. Yout focus should have:
Armor +5
Energy -5
+ an extra, preferably perfect inherent mod for it to have any real value.
Seeing that you have only +4 armor -5 energy - Merchant
