Hi all
I've been wanting this feature since the first Guild Wars came out. Since all other weapons have upgrades/mods that can be salvaged why can't shields be the same way?
For example you get a shield with a high req and only a +30 health mod, wouldn't it be nice to salvage that mod off the shield and add it to your personal shield or just simply sell it. It would be a good way to make pve/economy more diverse. I'm hoping Anet adds this feature to Nightfall.
What do you think?
Thanks

It will take out the rarity of the shield. Not the best idea imho. Imagine in diablo 2 everyone can salvage an SoJ like property from a common ring... well then there is nothing really special about SoJ anymore is there? I know that GW is suppose to be an even grounded game but adding a salvagable part won't make it even, it will just make the excitement over a good shield go away.
Saying you have a perfect Eternal shield -5dmg 20% +30hp won't mean anything anymore.
There are collectors and weapon makers who will make a perfect shield for you with the mods you want.
Catch my drift?

Perhaps making it like other weapons in the game, where the inherent mod cannot be salvaged nor changed but only found on the weapon. And then having the choice to add the second mod. I'm a collector of rare shields but its ridiculously hard to find the skin I want with the perfect stats I want and I wouldn't mind making it a little easier. :]
