Alliance Chat - use ONE name to identify yourself
Red
So at the moment, alliance chat works much like guild chat, and every other chat in the game. Your character's name appears in the chat, along with your tag.
Problem
In guild chat, a new name can easily be identified by opening the guild roster and hovering your mouse over the name. A small box will appear reading (also ________) listing the 'main account' if you will, which is the account you were invited on.
However, alliance chat members do not get this benefit. To them, my monk Daniel and my warrior Jake are completely different people in [MEEP] -- and, unless they have added everyone who speaks in Alliance chat to their friends list, and then check it whenever anyone speaks, they are stuck guessing with most people.
Solution
Please make the name that is displayed in Alliance chat the same name, regardless of what character you are on. Ideally you would be able to set what name would be displayed--I'd rather not have to kick myself out of my own guild and reinvite, just so Commander Redly can be the alliance chat name people see--but even if it were forced to be the same as the 'main account' on the guild roster... that would be an improvement.
Less confusion, more consistentcy ftw.

I think this is a good idea, however i belive that a Alliance List would be much better.
Having a tab on your alliance infomation and being able to select the guild and see who is in it would be a much better solution IMO.

*sigh*
I agree. Sometimes it's interesting to see what people will say about you, to you, when they don't know you are you... But overall things can just get really, really annoying.

True, but the chances are if they are gonna make a guild update, they'll do it all in one go, instead of change it little by little. I do think its a good idea, i just think a bigger change is needed aswel.

I'd prefer being able to view member guilds' rosters myself, but this would still be an improvement.

But infact having both would make it easier in the long run or what you could have, which is better is this.

This way it tells the people what charater your on, incase they want to meet up, but they still know who you are, a perfect all round solution.

/signed ..would clear up alot of confusion..make it the name that shows in ur guild. The character name u joined the guild with
bilateralrope
But if someone is looking for help over the AC, then having it only show their main characters name would make you have to ask what name they are currently using.
I suggest that alliance chat shows the name of their current character, and the name of their 'main' character after it in brackets to avoid that problem, and so you start learning which characters belong to the same account quicker.

I also think the alliance roster idea is the best one, but if that won't get implemented, this would be the next best thing.
