Okay, basically I've been playing Guild Wars for...uh...about 9 months I think, Bought Factions about a month or so ago, kinda disappointed with the PVE so far but then again I haven't left Shing Jea Isle yet, so maybe it'll get better. I've noticed as I'm sure many of you have that Tyrian quests gave lots of skills and Canthan doesn't. Right now I have 2 characters (one from each game) and I want to make more characters, but because I've played through Prophecies a few times, I don't want to go through all the boring minor quests again, I just wanna play the main quests.
So my question is...If I skip the sidequests in Prophecies/Factions, can I come back and do them later? I don't want to miss out on some skills, but I don't have the money to buy them or else I'd just play all Canthan characters.

Yes, you can go back and do quests that you skipped earlier. I know lots of people who save Villany of Galrath until they're a level 18 +.

There are no quests in Factions that give skills. Yes you can come back and do them later, as long as you don't abandon them from your log. Even if you do, you can go pick them up again.

When you first start the game you are given skill from the trainers. When you doing the secondary profession skills you will get skills from each trainer as you talk to them but will lose your old ones until you decide on a secondary. So yes you do get "free" skills but just these few, the rest you will have to buy.
