Suggestion: Faction Battles should have bigger influence on the world

My point is if u now fighting battles in Fort Aspenwood and if ur lucky to get enough ppl in Jade quarry ( which i never had ) u dont really do any impact or influence the world map.

What i am trying to suggest is that we should bring PvP and PvE enviroments closer to each other.

So when lets say that one faction win over certain opposite city, opposite faction should feel some penalties ( lets say they couldnt buy armours, materials, runes.... it should become hostile city to them ) so they would have to capture that town back if they want to have control of it.

But when certain faction would loose an important city i think there would be more PvE enviroment side players involved.

I am not talking about raids on cities like we know them from other online MMORPGs... I was thinking about something like Fort aspenwood fights only difference is that we should be able to fight like that for each city on Kurzik ( or any faction side ).
And cities should have something important in it ( skill trainer, crafters... ) so it would be worth to retrive it back. Borders should move with occupation of cities ( outposts ).

I am PvE player but i never found any motivation to start PvPing because i dont find any reward in it ( i dont influence anything, dont get any real reward... ). But from time to time i like to try my self in Fort Spenwood ( since i never get anyone in quarry to fight ( i think Anet shoud do something about that, including with late missions which r usualy empty of players ).

While i was folowing the story about death hatred betwen Kurziks and Luxons i didnt really experience any of it in the game ( i am just being friends with everyone
Now to me its kinda strange when i can walk around Cavalon with no serious danger over my head ( if i have more kurzick faction i just cant buy anything from traders and so on.. nothing really dramatic about it ).

So Id like to see some of this would change in Chapter 3 so the story would become more deep and there would be something to draw me back to the game instead of struggling threw the missions ( usualy with hences ) which didnt realy incourage me to do it with all my chars. I just feel that game should be implemented with some dinamics in it.

Well this is my suggestion, I am open to any other suggestions comments other ideas... Plz feel free to donate ur 2 cents into this.

If anything this should not happen. Factions has tried to pull PvE and PvP closer and even in the many forums you'll find the spite between the two play groups has only increased.
Anet working on merging the two has also created a watered down version of both game styles instead of the beauty that was in Prophesies.

This creates a "forced" PvP enviroment. The second I log in and find I have to partake in GW horrid PvP game play is the day I unistall it. I do not like the PvP in GW, I've tried it and do not like it at all. Rome Total War is my kind of PvP... so you can tell a difference in tastes there.

Many PvE could care less about PvP and do not wish for the game world to be affected by something that matters little or not at all to them. We can see this in the requests to have Favor removed as it limits or "attempts to force" PvP on PvE to win HoH so they can get into FoW/UW. It is not popular and would do much to tick more people off.

The motivation should be the competition. If the competition isn't strong enough to pull players in for the competition and "go for the win" then the PvP isn't strong enough to begin with. When I load up R:TW I look to conquere and take on several foes with my allies for nothing more than a good time. It doesn't need any long term side effect, it's the play I enjoy.

Actually, Factions "unique game mechanic"; according to Jeff Strain was this faction based PvP; AB and those silly Challenge and Competitive missions. If what he said holds true, then Nightfalls game mechanic will not include those at all nor should we have such a strong push to try out PvP (as in for Faction Farming). If Anet also listens to the communities as they claim too, then we should have a much richer PvE experience and a richer PvP game - if they listened and did not try to merge them again*.

*Merging them creates a watered down half baked mess rather than working on each game play uniquely and being able to give it the attention they require to be good. This is also probably why you had no "desire" to try PvP; it was only half baked, as was the PvE content.

Disclaimer: This is purely my opinion born of months of playing Factions. My opinion will not change but feel free to comment on it.

I expect we will be seeing at least one more attempt to bring PvE and PvP closer... as i stated on previous posts, i believe Anet underestimated PvE only players on the start, even that PvE was supposed to be an introduction to PvP (At least in Prophecies), some people really dig PvE and dont want to PvP at all.

Whether this attempt will be a sucess or not... lets wait and see.

I expect a more meaningfull PvE challenge or maybe some kind of HA-equivalent event in PvE...

Whether this attempt will be a sucess or not... lets wait and see.

hehe i totaly agree... its the same thing if u play CS only that u fight with swords here... but effect is the same and thats why i cant get hang of PvP... No real reward or satisfaction, no improvement ( what ever u do ur next fight will be simmilar to previous ) its repeating itself...

I might like PvP if it had to do something with PvE, where i would gain my reward later when i keep up with PvEing ( but only if this PvP would be optional only - let PvPers take care of the fights ).

Well this is still only my prospective and i know there r many PvPers who dont give a S*** about PvE.

PVE is fine.
PVP is fine.

Forcing one side to do the other is a really really bad idea. I'm all for the option to switch between the current playing styles but i will unsign every idea that wants to force a certain style of playing onto others. A thing i fail to understand is the lack of tolerance towards the other side. PVE mostly hates PVP and vice versa. Yet both sides want to force the other side to do their thing but they surely don't want to do THEIR thing.

It would be kinda nice to see pve affect the world more(titles being a slight step in that direction). The thing is they've either got to seperate us or mesh us together completely. People who only pvp scare away the people who only pve because who would want to casually pvp against someone who spends all their time doing nothing but? On the other hand people who pve to quickly instead of enjoying the depth of the game bore hard core pvpers to death, scaring them away. There has to be a balance somewhere.

It was suggestions so players could have bigger influence on PvE world, so it wouldnt be so artificial and dead.
