After a bit of a hiatus, GotW is back, and this week's featured Guild is Negative Zero.
You might recognize one of those names around the forums here... don't think I don't see you lurking! I see all.

Good stuff. I like their process for making a build, starts with one person making out the build, but each of the people taking part in the build get their say in fine tuning their character.

Congrats to n0, can't wait to see them on the ladder again

Congratulations, I was beginning to think that Arenanet forgot about the Guild's of the Week. I can nearly guarantee that they will be back on the top of the ladder in a few weeks, or days or even a few hours

Finally, they interviewed a guild worth interviewing. Maybe people will learn a thing or two about PvP and GvG after reading that.

Why does it seem like all of the GotW are all these huge guilds that are kicking ass in PvP, but so far haven't seen any PvE, or slightly smaller guilds?

We welcome your feedback on the Guild of the Week features. I wanted to say that the goal is, over the long term, to have many types and kinds of guilds represented, from small local guilds to those that are large and cross 19 time zones. We'd like to feature PvE, PvP and even the infamous CiT guilds. (CiT, you ask? My favourite: Chat in town. )

The objective is to show the depth and breadth of the Guild Wars community, and I think that over the course of the next few months, you'll really enjoy reading the features and learning more about the guilds of Guild Wars. We won't always look to the top of the ladder, but will, with our roaming and cloaked observers, pick out the least-expected guilds to be the subject of a feature.

At some point in the future, we may allow nominations for GotW, but -- I hasten to add (looking at my 700 mails a day) -- not quite yet!

Well, they just give fairly basic tips for PvP and seem to intentionally not give build specifics. Of course, newcomers to GW may learn a thing or two from it, but I can't say that doesn't apply to the information from the formerly featured guilds. It's pretty clear to me by now that these features attempt to give easily accessible information to newcomers, not focus on the veteran players too much, going into skill usage and synergize details, etc. Nice to see them as a GotW, anyway.

I know I am at least lurking here from time to time

- I think it will still be a while before we start playing on the ladder, if it all turns out well I hope this weekend, but it could easely be longer.

- The reason for no more specific information is also that the article had to be pretty short, they told us max 1000 words before we started the interview, which was a pretty long irc chat that took a couple of hours I think, with way to much information for me to read through . I think we actually sent some specific builds, but I can understand that it wouldn't actually make too much sense to most people to read such builds, as most of the more advanced points of such builds can only really be seen when the build is used, or through long explanations (not really room for it in such interviews).

Lastly, I would just like to thank Anet for the interview, it was fun to participate.

Hey, I just want to apologize if my post above sounded sour. Everything seems to always be a popularity test, no matter where you go, sure it always will be, but even the smallest guilds may have something big ones lack.

But anyway, I'm not going to drag out my point lol, I just wanted to apologize if that sounded at all flamey...

I realize the game is still young, and there are those guilds that just flat out kick arse all over the place, you always see them, etc etc. I know those are going to be the ones that are picked up for GotW to start, but I do look forward to finding some of the more obscure and unique guilds listed as well.

We've been working through a few guilds who have been active in alpha testing to start with. This helps us develop the process as the guilds know us and we know them. You should also notice if you go back and read them all that they are not all huge guilds that kick butt in PvP. Only two of the guilds so far have been strong PvP guilds (SoW and n0) while the others have been oriented more towards the RPG side of the game with a little PvP thrown in.

The first 4 articles all followed a particular format (RPG and PvP discussion), and obviously this most recent one deviated and discussed PvP almost exclusively. In future there's a very good chance that we'll decide to focus an article entirely on RPG play.

It's early days yet for this feature; we're still learning about our methods of discussing content with guilds and also what you all like to read. I enjoy variation as much as you do ... I certainly don't want to be talking about the same things every week for months and months and months...

I think all the top guilds should be handled first, so that newer people can get some ideas. If we did the smaller unknown guilds, they may not have many good ideas to help people!
