Ice Imps Must Burn

Ok I am trying to become a Drok's runner(isn't everyone?) and I am having a horrible amount of trouble with Ice Imps, they cause too much degen and I am not sure how to combat it. I would be forever grateful if someone could tell me how to get past those damn Imps!

yeah, they suck big time, elemental resistance could help.. but most runners are W\Mo.. so Id be interested to know to.

Degen from Ice Imps? You mean snares I think.


Most use Holy Veil to get Mind Freeze off...

Ice Imps don't cause health degen. They utilise Mind Freeze to hex opponents then use the resulting slowing movement to hit enemies with cold damage - like Maelstrom and Ice Spear.

Being a monk secondary is highly advised. The maintained enchantment Holy Veil is very effective, as it causes hexes to take twice as long to cast then it removes one hex when you stop maintaining it. Smite hex is also useful, as it's a quick casting hex-removal.

There are probably running guides around here somewhere.

Pre cast holy veil. if more then 1 wat for the first mind freeze to wear of then holy veil the next lot cause the imps would of all attacked you with it.

Yes I am a W/Mo and I have used Holy Veil but I always die before I can really get anywhere. Not so much with the Drok's run but with the Grotto run from Thunderhead Keep

on the Grotto run (also known as the imp run ) its very much impossible to get there tbh.

Use holy veil and smite hex (use smite hex INSTEAD of .. mending?)
And hope you get near to the portal and res there.

Droks run, I could probably help more there as I can do that 95% of the time.

ehh youre encountering ice imps on a thk to grotta run???

take a other route youre obviously taking the wrong one if you meet ice imps...

Actually, the route past the imps is thought of as really easy, thats why most people dont charge for a thk>grotto run. I havent tried it after the absorb update, might be harder now though

A Fiery Dragon Sword would be nice there but then again you run... yeah just use Holy Veil (pre-cast and then remove) Smite Hex is good as well.

Actually, Ice Imps aren't weak to fire.

i just tryed the run taking a few diffrent paths, imps everywhere. same with siege golems. elemental resistence helps along with charge that away your in stance for a shield and you can still move quick. for Wammo's try Holy Veil as listed above. and as for all you Droknar's Runner. /rant, QUIT SCAMMING PEOPLE! Seen way to many friends/guildies get scammed out of their runs. no fair to anyone in this game when people go against thier word. /end rant.

I used to run forge a long time ago and after I got fissure just to restore my balance... Use holy veil + smite hex all the time (thats for the 1st group of imps near pinesouls) and after that you can avoid all groups. If you can't avoid them simply ask someone to zone because it is an awful spawn.

Yeah the main reason I am trying to become a Drok's runner other then the obvious money it gets, is that there are no droks runners in my alliance and I have a lot of people asking me for this run. Thank you for all your help I think I might be able to work something out now
