Level 10s in Lornar's Pass?

I'm sorry if this is old and everybody knew about it, but I couldn't find anything about it in the search. I found a few groups of level 10 Stone Summit in Lornar's Pass. I was with henchmen, and there was a huge group so I was scared and ran, but then I noticed nobody was dying. So I decided to fight, and noticed they were dying in two hits. Then I saw they were level 10-12.

They were mixed in with level 24 Stone Summit, it was really weird. And whereas the level 24s always drop above 100 gold, these dropped about 20.

It was about half way between Dreadnought's Drift and Beacon's Perch, and it was along the route that runners don't normally take, on the east side.

I saw these groups (Threy are located off the usual route taken to Droknar's Forge), and I had the same reaction. My best guess is that they were there before The bigger, nastier enemies were added to hasten the flow of runners to the Forge.

Anyone else?

Its just the way it is...
I really dont know how to explain it or give you any more information.
If you wanted to look at it from a 'lore' perspective, then perhaps its where the stone summit train their dwarves or something like that. Just accept it and move on would be my advice.

Thanks, good to know I wasn't going crazy.

It was nice to discover that they were level 9-11, certainly made it easier. I made it from Camp Rankor to Beacon's Perch with a group of all henchmen. The only death was Devona once, she sometimes is so determined to fight on when the rest of us are running, bless her. So brave.

Hehe, those "newbie dwarfs" are there for a reason. They usually hang around with a higher level necromancer.

I agree with Rathcail , they are there because of the Necromancer.

If you walk around in south shiverpeaks you'll find these "lost" level 10 mobs, though. Lone lvl 10 ice elementals and lone lvl 10 dwarfs trying to find their way back north... Not to mention the groups of friendly lvl 10 Deldrimor dwarfs trying to get north (and getting viciously slaughtered the first monster they meet).
