Why W and not Wa, etc.?

Some professions has two letters like Me and Mo but some have only one letter like W and A? Ritualist is special because it is not Ri but Rt. Should Paragon be Pa or P and Dervish De or D?

Why they didn't just give two letters for everyone profession?

Because there are no other classes that start with a W.
If you had only an "M" for a class, it could be either a Mesmer or a Monk.
Same for Ranger and Ritualist, the choice of Rt ... I dunno, IMHO depicts better the word Ritualist, using the "t" in he second syllabe (sp?).

I think it was all supposed to be one letter but the second was added ONLY to stop confusion between two classes that began with the same letter.

Paragorn and Dervish will most likely be P and D.

note, this is for english language setting, as character names are actually differemt in other languages. ever turned yours into german after playing english for so long? so confusing if you see Ks around, or W being rangers...

but yeah, the reason has been named. if theres more than one char starting with the same letter, theyd have to add another.

in case of Mo and Me both having two - they are core classes
in case of R having one and Rt having two - one is core and the other isnt, meaning nobody knew another R will be added.
and renaming the whole thing would be sily. :s

For some reason it seems like seeing little Ps and Ds flying around will be a little stranger than seeing the As and Rts for the first time. I guess it's just the way the shapes hit my eyes.

You should all switch your language to "Bork! Bork! Bork!", trust me it is on there under languages
