We have picked the Top 5 submissions in our July Contest for the community to pick the forum titles and win a Guild Wars Guru custom fleece jacket. Please look below for the submissions then vote on your favorite that you'd like to see replace our Don Quixote titles we currently have! Some of the people that submitted also included a little background to aid the community in their decision. Some are GW related some are more general. I encourage you to consider them all

I wanted to create a title list that displayed both a tie-in to Guild Wars as well as utilizing a simple progression list that people could easily understand. This follows the fairly well known path for experienced players, using the game’s mission progression as a guide. While it is only using chapter one locations as a guide, the reasoning for this is that chapter one is the foundation for all other chapters – and to keep constantly changing the title lists for each and every chapter as it’s released would be too bothersome. Chapter one is the cornerstone of the entire franchise and this list would keep the forum members rooted. Thus, players will be able to see at a glance exactly where the poster stands in relation to other posters fairly easily.

All the titles are names of common enemies encountered in either the Prophecies or Factions campaign. Okay, the list is ordered specifically in order of level and location. I tried to avoid specific professions in the names so Grawl and Avicara were overlooked even though I like them more than the ones I listed. But some necessary monsters, such as the Charr, had to be included so the type of monster was selected through my personal preference. For instance, I selected the Charr Shaman because it was made a minipet, so I figured it would be more popular than say, a Charr Ash Walker. This theme of this list has numerous amounts of possibilities and choosing was just a cross between what I thought the community would want and my personal preferences.

If Miyagi's gets chosen. I'd want my title to be changed to "Not a Forge Runner" asap and "Not a Furnace Stoker" when I get to it.

I by far like Raiden Astal though I think the final one should be Kuunavang as appose to Burning Titan.. Kuunavang would certainly have some eliteness to it but yeah if it's possible to make any slight change (if Raiden Agreed which i don't know if he would or not) but yeah either way #5 gets my vote ^^

Couple of things about this, first off.. refrain from making comments on the quality of the submissions above if there's nothing you like. If you did not take the time to participate I do not want to see anyone bashing another's idea who did take the time to send in an entry.
Second, we've all ready decided to change these titles. There have been numerous discussions in various parts of the forum and we would like to see things changed up a bit. No one had any input on the original titles and we would like to see the community participate in this one and have something that a good portion of the Guru community can decide on.

Though this is how people behave around here. Not very appreciative toward Guild Wars nor Guru so you can see how it from GW point of view.

One question, Inde: Are these titles going to be pretty much permanent? Or will you change them out in the future? I ask because having titles from a certain campaign might give them a particular "shelf life," you know?

I know, something the staff and I have discussed. Depending on the winner then it's up for debate. There are certain options though that aren't necessarily GW related (Augmento) or ones that have been purposefully sticking to one chapter (Mimi). So it's up for grabs to see who wins. These forums have been open for just over a year now... and certainly the site will continue changing as we go into another year, and so on.
In fact, we are still debating how to handle the information and forums as new chapters are released (even beyond and deeper then a forum title) and don't have any solid answers there either. We certainly don't want to spread out the community too thin. So it's evolving and we'll just have to see how it all comes together.
Oh, and tommarrow, the answer is 57. We usually get a couple of hundred but this was a pretty specific contest tailored to the community. From there I picked out the top ones, and then the staff voted on their Top 5 favorite. And now it's up to the community. First place will see their forum title creation put into place on these boards and receive the Guild Wars Guru fleece jacket. Runner-up will also recieve a fleece jacket as well.
