Well i was just checking Gamespot for any more news on nightfall and was looking around when I saw a release date. And the big date advertised by Gamespot is: October the 24th. So we'll have it in three months everybody. Three months of discussion and theory, waiting and torture, and probably some more stuff.

I have seen release dates at stores like Gamespot and EB get pushed back way too often to give this date much thought.

Well they have already launched the beta(well in five days), and they have three months to mess with it, perfecting it. I amnt sure about Factions, but that came out on time, didnt it? And they hav had a team working on this for a nine months already, with an engine that they have already used and know, and probably built, so no major delays would be expected. And they'll want to have it out by then for the big christmas run up. So I would find this date very reliable.

I don't know....its almost six months exactly after the Factions Release. If I had to guess it would be then as well.
And then Chapter 4 will be out at the end of April. Though it'll probably com out on a Friday. So...the 27th or the 20th?

27th Then since the online game shops usally gets a headstart so the game can arrive in the mailbox on time for the start.

I'm thinking November 3rd or 10thm based off when Factions was released form its beta events.

I wouldn't trust any release date that doesn't come directly from Anet or NCSoft. When Factions was the big deal, people were living and dying by the Gamespot release date, and that changed several times.

In other words: Do not get excited.

they should push it back. alot needs done to balance out skills in factions a tad. Not to mention this chapter is more a holy war theme.

With whats going on in the middle east i'd have held off on the fueding holy characters.

There has been a holy war in the middle east since the birth of cristianity, we would have to wait until Doomsday for Nightfall if they let that influence the release.

They did say, even before proph was released, that every xpac after the first one would come out 6 month after the previous launch.

Correct. So the 24th is probably when they get stock in. The 28th would be the correct launch date to be 100% 6 months apart.

It started that recently?

As has been said, trusting release dates not sourced directly from the company generally is a bad idea (and sometimes even direct from the company - I generally assume any non-expansion Blizzard game will be at least two years after the originally announced release date ). If it's not official, it is at best an estimate, although in this case it probably is a reasonable estimate to make given the 6 month schedule.

Well one way or another, we will see it this year, as for Oct 24th that would be total cool cause my bday is the 25th. I think that in all technicly tearms it would come out sometime in oct or early nov. But we will see.

Definately October 28th... Exactly 6 months after Factions and 3 months after the upcoming beta event.

Depending on your definition of "Holy War", you can probably push it back to ~6000 BC.

And any definition of "Holy War" should probably acknowledge that it overlaps with "War for That Fertile Bit of Land" 90% of the time anyway.

...None of which should be an issue in the slightest. I've seen nothing that hints at a religious conflict other than the standard "good fantasy gods vs. evil fantasy gods", which shouldn't offend anyone who isn't already offended by the idea of computer game fantasy. About the most controversial thing we've seen so far is the name Dervish, which alludes to a certain kind of Sufi Moslem... And even that's unlikely to be taken the wrong way. It's not like ANet was accused of promoting hashish use and strangulation by scarf by sticking Assassins in Factions, is it?

It's well known that Gamespot determines its release dates by sacrificing a chicken and consulting the entrails for juicy details... And giblets. So don't put much faith in them.

Factions PvP Preview was in late Jan and release came in late April. With Nightfall's PvP Preview occurring in late July, I would not be surprised at a late October release. It makes perfect sense.
