How about a modification to turn them into like little Gwen's. Could have like healing, fire, disease, dagger throwing, where every once in awhile they do a little thing like how Gwen did. Pretty sure they could make like 20 different little mods to put on the pets so that the pets where actually uselful.
I definatly like the customizable mini-me idea. Granted, it would only be good if you could show it off in town. Who would want to buy 15k kurz armor and a fellblade for their mini if they could only show it off while outside of town. All in all though, it would be a great money hole for all of the rich people.

If you get pets for your first birthday, maybe we can get a Pet Parlour Pass for the 2nd? You know... do all kinds of interesting things like "Paint-a-Pet" (ever wanted a polka dot red Rurik?), "Customize Pet" (come on... how cool would it be for your pet to have training wheels?) or "Franken-petstein" (for those of you who own more than one pet, you can use the head of one with the body of another and the sound of a third etc..).
