As a pure PvEer, I fail to see how increasing the level cap helps the game any? I've played many other online games and in truth they truely do not start to be enjoyable untill you hit the level cap. GW allows for this cap to be hit earlier; which means it's easier to actually get into the game vs working for weeks at a time to gain level 75, or 225.
This level 20 cap also means Anet can work on adding content at a faster rate as they can work at level 1 to 20 vs 1 to 75 within an expansion... err... stand alone *cough*
Another way to look at it is this:
Anet is releasing a stand alone game every 6 months. Can you imagine Factions if there was a level increase? It's so small they would have to have level 1 thru 20 on Sheng Jea. Levels 20 to 40 in the "slums". Levels 40 to 60 in the "faction areas" and finally level cap at beating Shiro. To break that down would mean you would have to level grind in each of those small zones before you could move forward, minus doing any quests as the higher level mobs would tear us apart.
Raising the level cap doesn't fit in GW at all. Raising the challenge however does and Anet needs to figure out how to raise the PvE challenge while keeping the players skills effective against the higher level mobs (max level so far is 31), while keeping balance in PvP against same leveled foes(max level will always be 20).
