why cant i get a avatar?

can anyone out there help me with getting an avatar so far ive tryed using imageshack.us and then individualy copying and pasting the URL and stuff for the site under my avatar,everytime i click save changes it comes up with invalid file... any ideas???

What exactly you pasted? Imageshack might be bit bitchy about hotlinking directly to the images, methink.

You should just upload the avatar image straight from your computer using the "Upload an avatar from your computer" option in the settings.

It should work. Is the image small enough? (100 x 100 px, less than 19.5kb in size)

Just resizing it down to 100x100 doesn't guarantee that it's OK for an avatar. It might still be over the size limit, is it saved as JPG or PNG image?

Well. Suppose it's too large in size then. I just tested the avatar upload-thingy and it worked okay for me atleast. :d

try saving it a s .GIF, that knocks its size down quite well
