rings around minipets?

sometimes when i bring out my minipet it starts tingling, when the green ring with black spikes comes around it, anyone knows why they do that

I think they make a topical ointment for that. If not a regiment of penicillin will knock it right out.

me and my friend did some research about that ring
we didnt get a ring but we did get this:
when u stand next to an obelisk, when the obelisk strikes it also shoots at the minipet, and the minipets get the same effect if hit as humans
so we think the ring is caused by other enemys trying to kill the minipet, or because of area spells (meteor shower ss etc.) and found out minipets are able to be knocked down by in excample giants stomp, were not sure about the ring but we are sure about the obelisk and the knockdown
we also noticed the ring only appears in big group fights as we did the research in the isle of the nameless and not in other places
to top it off i killed my friend with a catapult in the name of science
