New 7-8 Character slots: the proof is in the updates

Updates have started for the PvP weekend and the first one many of us will notice is on the character select screne. Aside from the new ability to re-organize your toons, you can see four arrows--two on each side--shadowed behind the character select window. I take this as a VERy good sign that we'll be getting an extra slot for the PvP weekend, but lets carry that speculation a little further. If they cna give us 7 slotsw for one weekend event, why can't they give us 7 or 8 for Nightfall when we upgrade?

I think they will; I hope they will, and i'm very happy that it looks like we're getting another slot for the PvP weekend (i logged on to delet my mesmer back into a PvP toon).

I think they WILL give us 2 slots for Nightfall when it does come out, just like they did for Factions. I doubt they are going to give a slot for the preview event however. They didn't for Factions. I think the character slots are going to be available to purchase soon. It has been long enough.

I highly doubt they will "give" you a slot. There is no reason for them not to do the extra slots like they did for other PvP weekend Beta's.

However

I do believe you will be able to purchase an extra slot soon.

Also if you own nightfall and merge accounts you will have 2 extra slots as they did for factions.

They didn't give us any slots for the Factions PvP preview, and I highly doubt we'll get one for this preview.

I think it is, however, and indication that they are close to implementing purchasable character slots.

And I would also expect that a merged account with Nightfall will grant 2 more character slots, just as Factions did, and I believe that they will maintain that precedent for all future expan- excuse me, stand-alone chapters.

they will give us 2 more slots for nighfall. that is pretty much guaranteed(imo) if we were to follow on from the trend set by Factions..

That doesn't necessarily mean they are giving a slot for the weekend; they plan to start selling slots, so I figure that's what the new feature is for.

As for slots for combining with Nightfall, verything indicates we'll get 2 more, as with the factions+proph deal.

Well their is also the idea that they can grant use two extra slots for the PVP, but once its up those slots are locked and you can no longer use those characters till you get the game, or the have the PVE event like they did with Factions. But i think its most likey that they are telling us that we can get the buyable slots soon, most likey this week, before the PVP event. Only time will tell. Also notice no update on website about what the patch had in it.

Gaile said that there will be no slot for the upcoming event. However, I would say it is highly likely we will get two more slots of Nightfall. Even so, very soon we will be able to purchase new character slots for $10, so says Gaile. So soon in fact, that they're bug testing it today (while Gaile was online). Good news all around...

Well, s---. I wasn't keeping up on gaile with that one. Guess this means I have to start looking for a new game soon. I got into Guild Wars to keep my credit card OUT of gaming companies hands. After a year of freedom, I'm not going back. GG Anet.

um, what??? no one said you have to buy new slots.... so you dont need to give anyone your credit card number.

Nobody is forcing you to buy character slots. I have 2 slots for pve characters. I coudl have 5 pve and 1 pvp and it is quite enough.

Every damn time they add something or change something it's the same.

Have they said that you will not be able to get slots from a store? Like buying a 30 or 60 day game card for WoW or xbox live.

hmm, same here. Debt free after oh too many years and loving it... and I need some new slots to keep playing. I wonder if they will allow purchase from a store or a check by phone type of system.

What happened to your other 4/6 character slots. Did they just disappear or do you refuse to play them?

They are all filled with level 20's wearing two or three sets of 15k armor. All but one has finished the story line in Proph and Cantha and have or are two or three mission/bonuses from Protector titles on both continents. Two have 95% maps unlocked. And all but one has over 1 mil to 4 mil exp. So yea, I need some new slots to further feed my addiction. hehe... not quite into deleting them.

Although Gaile did say there wouldn't be any extra slots "for the weekend event", that doesn't mean A-Net couldn't choose to release the purchaseable character slots at the same time as the weekend event...

We can hope, can't we?
