Here's news for you, people who are all like "I want it to be more like the first one, wahhhh"... it won't be, so be quiet and pipe down. Why? Well, it's been said before many times, and none of you have read the reason... at least, the ones that complain haven't.
IT WONT BE! IF IT WAS THEN NOBODY WOULD POPULATE PROPHECIES MISSIONS ANYMORE, RENDERING IT DEAD!
so stfu...
If you want WoW, play WoW, or... Lineage II... or a host of many other games out there more like what you want, and save you Guild Wars related hate for your school teachers and parents.
It'll be like factions (whilst not indentical) with new stuff, SHORT PvE (like factions)...
Want Nightfall to be more like Prophecies, not Factions?

This thread is pretty worthless and you should be ashamed of yourself for making it.
Crimson Ashwood
It's not worthless, the amount of posts I've seen (from reading this forum, which I do) saying they want something that's not coming is astounding. The thread serves the purpose for which I made it, which is to bring light to the information which I've stated.
It's not really that hard to read into is it?

Indeed. Someone close this trollcave up.
But I would be interested in hearing your thoughts behind the "reason". Because GWP will be empty, the game will not be like GWP? Sorry, but doesn't make sense to me. Why do you think this? Do you think ArenaNet thinks, when making an expansion "Oops, we better do our worst. Else people will not play the old chapters." (note the use of the word "play", not "buy")

First of all, your conclusion is clearly flawed. It won't be like Prophecies, because that would rob Prophecies of its players, so instead it will be like Factions? If they were truly starting with that premise, it wouldn't be like Factions either--it would need to be different from both.
Second, Anet has released information specifically saying that Factions was targeted more towards PvP players, and that Nightfall will be targeted more towards RP players. See this thread:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10010713
Considering that you feel it necessary to emphasize that you read this forum, one wonders how you missed that thread. It's been on the first page of this forum all day.
Third, even if you were right (which is obviously not the case), you're being a whiny jerk in the way you're saying it, which is not going to score you any points. You could have delivered all of that information in a courteous and civilized manner, and instead decided to be whiny and condescending. How do you expect people to react?

Dude, the staffs that created Profecies and Factions are different. The people from Profecies are creating Nightfall, so yes, they will be similar in a sense. I would really like to have better character skins than factions, cuz some of them are dead ugly.

Ok, I'm comfortable with the closure of this thread and yes I could have worded it differently, absolutely.
Missed the thread? There is no "the" thread, it would be "those threads"... plural, stating it had been brought up more than once, in fact many times. Hence, the need for the topics own thread. Yeah?
In the forum world, there are no "points"... I don't attempt at scoring non-existant "forum points" so you say.
Furthermore to the topic itself; Why? ANet has stated that it doesn't want to remove players from Prophecies. How do they prevent this? By making additions similar to Factions, rather short. Which is what was stated in the original post.
C'mon...

wow I go to read a new thread and it's like I'm getting flamed at before I even said anything
it's like a pre-emptive troll strike

I enormously prefer the Factions experience to Prophecies. The balanced enemy party composition alone is enough to ratchet it up 100% over its predecessor.
...However, I don't think expressing the above sentiment the way the OP did really helps the case - beyond pointing out that yes, some of us are sick of "OMG Factions sucked" threads.
I can also give an educated opinion as to why the Lord of the Rings moves sucked (they did) and why the Star Wars prequels were on par with the originals (they were); but the fact remains that some of us minority opinion groups have to just suck it up and suffer in silence.
